Why is the adult biz so fucked up when it comes to investments ???

I used to work in the online travel biz and did quite well. For about a year we sent the most booking to a hotel chain, more than Sabre or Galileo ... that was a nice time ... we were in IPO discussions with the Midland Bank (UK). That was in 1997 when everything was alright with the web biz

i never had any problems finding money/investors in that biz.
I offered them a planned ROI of about 105% - 110% in the first year and investors were happy.

Now in the adult biz, i can honestly offer a ROI of about 150% - 200% and my old investors are not interested although they made some nice cash with my ideas.

So ... why is the adult biz so profitable and at the same time so fucked up when it comes to investments ??? Tell me!
I have an idea, the plan and the people to provide it .... is it just a matter of trust ?

That is a great question.
I think there is a lot of trust but I too always said.
Why don't we all work together rather than against each other.
If a handful of companies would team up, that would make them so much stronger.

How is your new project working out?

its coming to an end.

But the new project has way more potential. Noone is doing that right now. Its just sad that you cant find some 30-40k in the market for building it.

Ive talked to some investors i had in the past. They dont want to invest in adult. Its crazy. Maybe its because they are Swiss. They see the chance, the see the money (they see the risk as well, of course) ... but they are strictly against adult

So ... i think the only way to find money for an adult project is to find an investor in the adult biz. But unfortunately this seems to be impossible.

i know. But its sad. While you offer investors 5% rev in the travel biz you can offer them 10 times more in the porn biz but still no investor

good point. A lot of biz people i know personally are entering the chinese market (or try to).

But i mean ... investors should see that porn is quick cash. Maybe thats not interesting for the real big ones ... but for the smaller one? They dont give a fuck about the asian market i think

The last thing we should want is for it to become "acceptable" for mainstream money/business to move into or invest in "porn".
Seriously do you think it is crowded now?
Do you think it is cutthroat now?

honestly i think the online porn biz is still a very young business and there's still a lot you can do here. This will change over the next 20 years, thats for sure.

Do it yourself or find a partner...

Why have someone who isn't doing any of the work nagging you all the time about how you run your business

Then again...I could be a neurotic control freak but investors make no sense. You wanna do something - work your ass off and do it yourself. That way you answer to no one.

Think about it, you aren't doing this to be an employee - if you have investors, you have to answer to them just like a boss. You might as well be an account rep working on a %.

If you have an idea...get in the trenches, do the shitwork and do it yourself to make it happen. That way you can do it your own way and win or lose...it's yours. It may not come as quickly...but it's yours.

Good luck.

Perhaps the reason no one is eager to invest is because it is still a "taboo" subject. While the great majority of people do enjoy it from time to time, not many are willing to tell their bank, family or friends about it.

You notice this bigtime in sales.

An adult website will sell for 3-12 months income. Mainstream? 10-36 months.
