ASP Gallery

Hi! i need your opinion about this gallery: http://www.qualitypornfree.com/poll.asp
will tgps accept an asp page? it's that way because of the poll code.
besides that, has anyone tried something like this? what do you think, i'm wasting my time?
Thanks!

I've received a few ICQ's from TGP people wondering if they should even open an ASP page. I doubt it will get accepted even though it's a nice gallery, simply because of the .asp extension.

Maybe if you submitted to them on a regular basis, and had a good relationship with them, and explained what it was before you submitted it. But is all that worth it just for a gallery?

thanks redshoe, i'll try to leave just the form in an htm page and the results or voting done by asp, then having the voting option i think gives the visitor something to play with/gives the gallery some "added value"?

It's a nice thought Roberto but why....???
I mean, there just isn't a point.

Maybe try a text link at the bottom saying..""Who do you think is Hotter?? Jenna or Tera?? Click here to cast your vote @ New Sensations !!""

because as a surfer, all galleries are the same after a while, you have a minute to catch the surfer before he hits back or closes your window and go back to the tgp, i will use a part of your text thanks!

interesting concept...I like it, but then again I have always been one to code outside the box...I feel that most TGP's all look the same and anything new should be welcomed, who knows it may be tomorrows standards...as far as and "ASP" page goes...there is nothing to fear from an ASP page, it is not much different than that of a PHP as far a functionality. The only real difference of course is that PHP operates under a UNIX environment and ASP under a Microsoft environment...the two languages are very similar in alot of ways. IMHO

it's already getting accepted everywhere
there's not a single problem with .asp galleries, 'cuz nt/2k servers r really fast (probably the only advantage :=))

I once thought as you did...but the benefits of actually learning PHP pay-off in the end when you end paying 1/3 of the cost for a unix host...

well in bench mark tests PHP has been proven faster than asp, and as far as a server being reliable(staying up) UNIX takes it...although Win2K Advanced Server is pretty damn cool and is pretty strong so I would say it is getting close to 50/50

hate to admit that, but new win2k servers r really faster then linux/freebsd+apache based. some *nix with expensive netscape servers can be still faster then M$, but i'm not an expert in this area...

asp & php can be compared and btw asp can use php as scripting languge too...

indeed M$ languages sucks, like VB and r really dummy-only

sad that even mod_perl is so slow

for this gallery in particular the poll thing.

Bone, there really is none.

I ported all my asp code to php long ago. Worst thing i ever did is spent all my time coding and learning asp. The only advantage i can see with asp is for people who are die hard and sold on Win Servers...and in my opinion, this isn't considered an advantage at all.

I would learn and stick with php is because it's cross platform...can run on anything. When i started asp, i needed a module (chilisoft) on one of my unix server just to run asp...$500 for the module. That's the shit you have to put up with when coding with microsoft crap...everything costs.

Since php is open source, everything free and tons of fixes and shit is alway being released.

By the way, nice gallery Roberto. Though i'm sure there's tons of free voting scripts without having to use either php or asp.

yea i know, i'm no M$ lover anyway but my host is a virtual w2k account, i can't even set file attributes so it's easier for me to set up a dsnless asp thing than putting up a cgi script (have to mail my host tech support, wait until they feel like setting the file attribs just for testing, etc.)

BAAAD IDEA!
If you want something dynamic use PHP. ASP is SLOOW when getting hit hard. TRUST ME! i used it. it renders slow as fuck. Use PHP and change the '?' to '/'

so a gallery looks like

gallery/hun/

ask a PHP expert about it

no advantages at all. VB is pretty dumb language, but writing a counter on asp is still better than using 3rd party one....
IMHO

btw VB is really simple, php took me one day to learn, my 1st .asp script was finished in 2 hrs from scratch. but perl, even php r way better anyway than any silly M$ invention
