Any Niche Too Narrow?

The question asked in the topic isn't exactly what I'm trying to find out.

What I want to know is if there's any niche that's too narrow to make a good influx of funds if all the advertisements promote sites within that niche. Research from TNB suggests that's how it should go, adverts relate directly to site content to promote better conversions and all.

I'm just wondering, with a small niche, would it help or hurt to promote sites with a more... generic appeal?

I'm not talking the obscenely obscure niche sites, I was thinking of starting with redheads, and then expand to other slightly bigger niches as I got better at this whole thing. Figured I'd promote redhead sites, amateur redhead models, etc...

But when I search around, while there's a share of those sites to be promoted, I notice it's a fairly small share.

Would teen sites, amateur sites, breasts sites, etc be good to promote aswell with the hopes of converting well? Or should I stick to linking my adverts directly to my content?

I haven't launched anything yet by the way, still in the researching/planning stage. Just wanted to clear this up before I moved forward.

My thanks,
~ Def

Generally , the more narrow the niche the better the rebills.

If you're planning on making a living at this as a single webmaster
stay away from teen/amateur. The market is full of bigger fish.
You might eek out a living if you have your own models.

Pick the niche that is right at the edge of what you can stomach
working with day in and day out. Learn what the community of
surfers actually wants. (join the yahoo/msn groups and see
what copyright violations they are committing) Then tailor your
marketing to what the serious colletors want and get it to them
in a method they are comfortable using. (don't fall into the "TGPs
are the only traffic source" trap)

Cheers

Personally, I think that the appeal for those niches is very wide....I think it's easier to market something WITH a narrower appeal. I don't know about redheads, but I would think sites that feature bizarre insertions, or bbws or trannies, or something that intrigues some people while repelling others would be easier to target in marketing.
But on the other hand-and this is especially true with amateurs-offering something a bit different than the source can be advantageous, too. I mean, surfers who like anal don't generally ONLY like anal....
Hope that makes sense.

The thing to remember, irrespective of the niche you are currently promoting, as has already been mentioned, is that a surfer generally wont just be interested in something such as 'Anal Sex'.

Therefore, it stands to reason that any good marketer will also offer the surfer alternative, yet complimentary niches such as ass sites, ass to mouth, DP sites etc.

In addition, you should always include a couple of smaller text links going to a completely different niche or market for example, on all of our straight sites, we also include a link to a bisexual, gay and alternative straight site, just to ensure we maximize the profit potential from every surfer hitting our sites.

Regards,

Lee

It helps to know a fetish well enough to recognize the places where personal fetish maps commonly overlap.

Fer instance, a foot fetishist is often also a leg man, and sometimes an ass man -- but rarely gets more excited than normal by boobs.

The genius of the Tusy Cash sites is a result of understanding the overlapping fetish maps. They have spanking site that also toys with age play and anal stuff (rectal temp taking etc) which are fetishes that often overlap with spanking. Then they have a medical anal fetish site that does the temp taking plus enema stuff, which is another frequent overlap with spanking fetishists and with guys who are turned on by asses.

I'm not saying they always get the mappings exactly right, or even right for the majority of surfers -- but their sites are clearly inforrmed by an awareness of the way in which various fetishes overlap, which puts them light-years ahead of the cookie-cutter people.
