SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

I applied for an editor several times but get rejected.. even for the smallest categories.

It usually takes about a year to get listed. I do like the idea of becoming an editor.... Maybe we can all band to gether and work with those who already are.... COme on Fred Quimby, help us out....

I've never applied because everyone I've spoken with said it's useless. I'd do it if I thought I even had a shot.
I have a site I've been waiting 5 months to get listed, with no luck. And it's not even porn. It's mainstream and wholesome as apple pie. (btw- you misspelled "you're", Mr. Editor. ;-)
If you're gonna offer a bribe to an editor...I wouldn't be doing it in an open forum....just makes it easier to nip it in the bud. :graucho
Holly, absolutely put in an app to be an editor, however, your motive should be to better the directory. It IS tough to become an editor...but not impossible.
Adult is especially difficult given the past abuse that has taken place.
To everyone...if your entire reason for editing is so you can add your own sites, don't even bother. Even if you DO get through the editor app process, you'll be snagged eventually once you start adding your own sites. You'll get the boot AND you risk having ALL of your sites removed from the directory.
Peeps, and I'm saying this in the nicest way I know how.....either have a genuine interest in editing at DMOZ or don't apply.
Submitting sucks, I know...believe me, I know. Queues are way behind. Only thing I can say is patience is a virtue...

A year? You are kidding me.. it never took me more than 2-3 mo and without bribing
If you check the DMOZ forum, you'll notice a pattern of:
"why hasn't my site been accepted? i submitted it a year ago!"
There are some hilarious threads which are like this:
Jan 03: Hi, why hasn't my site XYZ been accepted?
-> Editor: wait longer
Aug 03: Hi, I waited 6 months
-> Editor: wait longer please
Dec 03: been nearly one year now, why isn't it reviewed?
-> Editor: wait longer please
Dec 04: been 2 years now, will it get reviewed?
-> Editor: wait longer please

It has certainly become that. Sadly though it still very much has uses. It's worth taking 30 secs out to submit to, you just need to keep your expectations low. Hopefully one day the few places that still give you a boost for being in DMOZ will realise how pathetic it is these days and stop doing so.
If you're lucky enough to get a listing in under 3 months you'll find that won't hold true if you try other catagories. Unfortunately most editors for DMOZ didn't realise it'd require a little work and once they found out stopped reviewing or at best certainly don't review enough to prevent the huge backlogs from continuing to grow.
