Young - It seems like you are blaming God because your g/f was taken away from you. Have you thought that maybe she is in a happier place right now, or just that it was her time to go? The same thing will happen to you too...it will happen to all of us.
I am very very sorry about your g/f, I cannot blame you for hating, if my s/o passes away I would blame everyone that I could. I would be a very pissed off and unhappy person. I am not preaching to you at all...I am saying that now b/c seriously I am not, i am in a way agreeing with you. But you have to go on, in hopes that you will be with her again :) :2 cents: |
Maybe the question should be asked "Why does the majority of humanity currently and historically believe in dieties (whether singular or plural)? What is it in our collective psychology that is attracted to this concept? What are modern variations to this classic theme?"

Jesus, religion, dogma, or spirituality? These are not necessarily all the same (nor mutually exclusive). Can you be more specific? |

I have no fucking faith. I will never have kids...who would want to bring a life into this cold fucking world we have. Do not get me wrong....I am far from miserable. I do well financially, I have a huge family (150+ at annual reunion) but God isn't the person who gave this to me. Jesus did I make any sense in what I just said? sorry i just kept typing. |

well maybe because the thought brings comfort, or that most of the exisiting explanations i have seen for the existance of the world are far to vague to believe either so why not choose the more comforting of them instead of the one that says we were apes or that we just came to be from the big bang theory and no i dont consider myself to be a overly intelligent person but i also know i am not stupid either

Part of the reason why I believe in God and Jesus is because of my beliefs on the origin of matter and life.
The universe didn't create itself. Someone created it. Or somebody is responsible for creating the chain of events that created the universe and life. The only explanation that makes any sense to me is that a higher being (God) created these things. Who else would have the power to create something out of nothing besides a higher being? Someone is in control and responsible for creation, and that someone I believe is God. |
