I would have to go with this one:
How Come, How Long /Babyface Feat. Stevie Wonder [From Album : The Day] There was a girl I used to know She was oh so beautiful But she's not here anymore She had a college degree Smart as anyone could be She had so much to live for But she fell in love With the wrong kinda man He abused her love and treated her so bad There was not enough education in her world That could save the life of this little girl How come, how long It's not right, it's so wrong Do we let it just go on Turn our backs and carry on Wake up, for it's too late Right now, we can't wait She won't have a second try Open up your hearts As well as your eyes She tried to give a cry for help She even blamed things on herself But no one came to her aid Nothing was wrong as far as we could tell That's what we'd like to tell ourselves But no, it wasn't that way So she fell in love With the wrong kinda man And she paid with her life For loving that man So we cannot ignore, We must look for the signs And maybe next time we could save somebody's life |

mardigras, I have to agree that Seasons in Sun quite sad. It was the first one that popped in my head and I remember it when I was quite young (maybe 5-6 years old) listening to it and having someone explaining the words to me.

Anything by Céline Dion ... makes me :waaaaahh while I remember that she is Canadian.

Queen is a good one, there are a couple I can remember from when I was young that my dad used to play. Here are two from back in the day;
Ray Peterson - Tell Laura I Love Her Wayne Cochran (and Pearl Jam does a cover) - Last Kiss Blink 182 - Adams Song There ya have it, those are def up there! Tell Laura I Love Her ( Ray Peterson ) Laura and Tommy were lovers He wanted to give her everything Flowers, presents, But most of all, a wedding ring He saw a sign for a stock car race A thousand dollar prize it read He couldn't get Laura on the phone So to her mother, Tommy said Tell Laura I love her Tell Laura I need her Tell Laura I may be late I've something to do, that cannot wait He drove his car to the racing grounds He was the youngest driver there The crowed roared as they started the race Around the track they drove at a deadly pace No one knows what happened that day Or how his car overturned in flames But as they pulled him from the twisted wreck With his dying breath, they heard him say Tell Laura I love her Tell Laura I need her Tell Laura not to cry My love for her will never die Now in the chapel where Laura prays For her poor Tommy, who passed away It was just for Laura he lived and died Alone in the chapel she can hear him cry Tell Laura I love her Tell Laura I need her Tell Laura not to cry My love for her will never die Tell Laura I love her Tell Laura I need her Tell Laura not to cry My love for her will never die Blink 182 Adams Song I never thought, I'd die alone I laughed the loudest who'dve known? I traced the cord back to the wall No wonder it was never plugged in at all I took my time, I hurried up The choice was mine I didnt think enough Im too depressed to go on You'll be sorry when Im gone... I never conquered, When you came 16 just held such better days Days when I still felt alive We couldnt wait to get outside The world was wide, too late to try The tour was over, Id survived I couldn't wait til I got home To pass the time in my room alone I never thought I'd die alone Another six months Ill be unknown Give all my things to all my friends You'll never set foot in my room again You'll close it off, board it up Remember the time I spilled the cup Of apple juice in the hall Please tell mom this is not her fault I never conquered, When you came Tomorrow held such better days Days when I can still felt alive When I cant wait to get outside The world is wide, the time goes by The tour is over, I've survived I cant wait till I get home To pass the time in my room alone..... Last Kiss Oh where, oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me She's gone to Heaven so I got to be good So I can see my baby when I leave this world We were out on a date in my daddy's car We hadn't driven very far There in the road, straight ahead A car was stalled, the engine was dead I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right I'll never forget the sound that night The screaming tires, the busting glass The painful scream that I heard last Oh where, oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me She's gone to Heaven, so I got to be good So I can see my baby when I leave this world When I woke up the rain as pouring down There were people standing all around Somthing warm flowing through my eyes But somehow I found my baby that night I lifted her head, she looked at me and said Hold me darling just a little while I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss I found the love that I knew I had missed Well, now she's gone even though I hold her tight I lost my love, my life, that night Oh where, oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me She's gone to Heaven so I got to be good So I can see my baby when I leave this world Woh woh woh woh woh Ohhh oh ohhhh Woh ohhh oh oh oh ohhhh Ohhh oh oh oh oh Woh ohhh oh oh oh ohhhh Ohhh oh oh oh oh |
Gone For Good - Morphine (and the singer Mark Sandman died a couple of years ago on stage)
------------------------------------------------- I'm never going back never going back to you I'm never going to see you again I'm never going to dig out your picture I'm never going to look you up someday Life is very short You don't love me anymore So I'm never going to see you again I'm never going to write you a letter Never going to call you on the phone I'm never going to drive by your house I'm never going to catch you coming outside Never going to walk up your walk And ring your bell And feel you fall into my arms I'm never going to see you (x2) I'm never going to see you again Your gone for good |
