That commercial use an advertising technic called "Negpro". It's produced with full intention to agitate the viewer just enough so that it leaves an impression. It is used very often, an other example is Mentos. It works. You took the time out to start a thread about it. And even if you hate the commercial but need a $15 pair of jeans, you'll go to them.

Even bad promo is good promo. I may have taken the required marketing credits in school, but that was learned by reading; forget where.
