why does the chinese food in LA suck???

ive been living in LA for 2 years , tranplanted from NYC. I have not had good chinese food here??? any suggestions???

I felt the same way, except Ive lived in LA my entire life, but I found one chinese resturaunt that is simply the best Ive had in LA, its called Mandarin Island Chinese Resturaunt, its in Woodland Hills, you should check it out.

I heard the chinese in San Fran is supposed to rock but nothing beats NYC chinese . I can relate I live in Atl and its the same found one thats close but not as good.

The food in LA isn't that great for some reason.

There's a few good Thai places I've been to and a really good Indian Place called Electric Lotus on Vermont Ave.

You won't find too many good & cheap chinese places without going east of The 101 down Sunset but IMHO the best Chinese in LA is definitely at Genghis Cohen's.

There is good chinese food (along with many other awsome places to go) but you have to know where to go.

For chinese food Sam Woo is the best. there are a few around but there is one in china town, but i'm a valley boy so i go to the one on victory and sepulveda.

on another note the viet namese place right there next to sam woo pho so 1 is the best in LA.

as a side note to Sam Woo, bring cash because its cash only
