    Buying Mailing Promotion?

    Hello,

Searching for traffic purchases here, I got contacted by a guy offering targeted mailing instead (seemed like a nice guy, no probs or anything).

But, even though I´m sort of curious about this way of promoting, I´m also very hesistant.

    1. First of all, is it legal to be mailing people without prior direct acceptance from the receiver?
    2. Will it be considered spam (eg by the billing company, host etc - thus risking both)
    3. If its legal - is it worth it? The prices given were extremely high I´d say, but then - I have nothing to compare it to.

As for the legal part - I asked about it directly:

    Question (08:01 PM) :
Isnt that illegal? I mean, sending mails to people who hasnt asked for it?

    Answer (08:01 PM) :
    Actually No...
These people have done more then asked for it...they have already bought and still do.. So its diffent

    Is that correct ?
(I have no particular reason to doubt the guy, but I wondering - even though i´d bought something someplace, wouldnt I consider it spam, if somebody else mailed and offered me something more or less similar etc etc).

Anyway, I´m just curious about this thing - and I´d hope for some feedback from experienced people in the field
