    A Warning to those who deal on guru/elance who want locals

    Some of you may or may not know this. But I thought you guys might find it interesting.

    I usually hire programmers in a local area, so I can meet them face-to-face, and its safer when it comes to spending large amounts of money. Anyway, I have gotten several bids from professionals, and I would get a local phone number they said I could call them at. When I call this number, guess what? Someone picks up the phone in an Indian/Arabic language and can barely speak or understand english (most of the time). So I try to get them to understand the question 'where are you located'. They always say some country out of the US in the middle east. So basically they are grabbing local phone numbers and somehow having them direct to their country.

    I sure as hell hope im not being charged for those fucking calls!

          Well considering I have only used guru twice, I didn't really notice, asshole.

                  they are using vonage like everyone else. I have a Sandiego number that rings in my house here in Mexico. I can get a number anywhere in the world that they offer them, and have it ring here.
