I have some extra Sun Netra T1 Servers.. anyone interested?

I just picked up about 60 Sun Netra T1 Servers from a failed dot com company. I don't have a use for all 60, so if anyone is interested in buying a server or two, let me know!

The Specs:
- Sun Netra T1 (1 RackUnit)
- UltraSPARC-IIi 64 bit 440mhz
- 512 MB Ram
- Dual 100MB Onboard Ethernet
- Dual UWSCSI 18GB 10,000 RPM Hot Swap Disks

Other Features:
- Remote Power Management
- 100% Sun Equipment (Inside and Out)
- 19" Rack Mounting Units Included

$2,500 OBO

As soon as I can figure out how to post a pic up here, I'll post one!

I don't have any benchmarks as far as how many hits they can do. Sun hardware is very well respected because of it's performance and stability.

I think depending on the application you want to run and how it's used, you should be able to handle a ton of traffic.

KC,

These make pretty good Web, DB, servers for their size. I have two and they can swallow around 4.4 to 4.5 Million Trans. Day ? static. 64Bit kicks ass over Intel.

I would be interested. Unlike others on this board, I DO see the OBO by the price.

I would be interested in 4 or more units. E-mail me and we'll chat on price... :-)

Hmm, these things will handle a hefty amount of hits. The 4.5 million static figure was probably pretty close, but bump up the RAM to a gig and you should be able to do a little more. Keep in mind they won't compare CPU-wise to an Intel box of the same price, but in webserving CPU is far less important than RAM, and of course stability.

These boxes would be rock solid for you, Sun makes some great stuff.

Just don't do overly CPU intensive things on them unless you want to wait a while. Sun is great at making SMP machines (I've worked with 32 processor 6500's, and E10k's and such), but single CPU performance in real-world stuff seems to pretty much suck (for things I do, other things they own x86 with one hand tied behind it's back).

Nummy, wish I had a few grand laying around.
