Anyone else get this weird e-mail today?

Got a very strange behaving e-mail today. Never opened it. It had no subject line, no body message, no sender and no recipient being displayed. Went into the junk mail bin and then to trash.

Now if I click into the junk mail bin, even after being moved to trash and permenantly deleted, it appears again.

It has a weird date on it 12/31/1969 7PM.

I ran VirusScan and Ad-Aware on my system and nothing was found.

Any ideas how it keeps coming back?? Not doing anything malicious other than reappearing.

It happens ocassionally.....actually I also asked about it on GFY few months ago, and people also said that it happens but there's no clear explanation.

I simply dont open mail when there's no sender and no topic.

its a wrong mail
can only be deleted straight on the mailserver.
Cant be deleted through outlook.
This mostly happens after a database clearance or fix at the mailserver.

Sorry I had to do this to you KRL.. But I went back in time and bought men.com and porno.com right when Al Gore invented the internet. I figured I'd send you an E-mail while I was there.

IMAP mail? I've got 4 deleted mails stuck in my Inbox which always appear as unread. I've tried deleting them off in the web mail version of the IMAP so of course they don't appear there, just in my Outlook. Go figure...

OK got rid of it now.

Compacting both the JUNK and TRASH folders permenantly removed any trace of it.

Try doing what I did Kimmy. I've never used the COMPACT FOLDER feature before but what it does is completely and thoroughly clean out a mail folder.

I'm set to auto compact and to purge on exit already, so I guess it's not going away -- thanks for the idea tho!

Thunderbird (Mozilla)

Its all gone now. Compacting the IN, TRASH, and JUNK folders seem to do the trick.
