Would you be less for heavy punishment for dealers if we had a flat national sales tax? If that were the case they could make all the money they want but the government would get it's share when they spend it. If millions of people are going to smoke weed anyway why not at least let this previously undeclared income come into the financial picture one way or another (personally I favor putting it under the same regulations as alcohol). We're talking billions a year.

Of course not... but should you get double the sentence a murderer gets from the same judge a couple hours later? That is NOT justice.

Anyone who thinks this is a fair sentence is a fucking moron who most definitely deserves to be paying the hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars it will cost society to keep this guy locked up.

For anyone who thinks that 55 fuckin years in PRISON is just, for someone who has been busted twice for selling herbs with a concealed weapon, and having more guns at his house, is absolutely crazy. The only thing I can see 55 years for is murder and rape, I agree he should get a pretty lengthy sentence but 55 fuckin years, come on man, thats just rediculous!

Is that the kind of precedent you want to set? You want to let degenerate dealers decide what laws they can abide and which ones they can break? Give your head a shake man, this isn't some angel who was picked up by the 'powers to be' and thrown in jail. This asshole decided to sell an illegal substance, he decided to have a concealed weapon, he decided to have weapons at his house. Are you going to try and tell me he didnt know this was illegal? If you think 'victim-less' crimes should be abolished, all the power to you, I might even sign a petition to help your cause.. but that doesnt change the fact that he committed a crime. You have to change the law before the crime is committed in order for it to be alright.

Truth be told I think legalizing weed (from a ideological point of view) is VERY tricky. It's a thin line to dance on. On the one hand, as stated in other posts its a victim less crime, it should be the individuals choice, etc. But you can say the same about wearing a seatbelt in a car, or wearing a helmet when driving a motocycle, etc. Those laws are in place to help protect the citizens of a nation. But is that really the role of the givernment? to make choices for individuals safety? I dont know where to draw the line. But I do know marijuana is a gateway drug. I do know that I started drinking on the weekends when I was 13, I graduated to weed the same year.. by the time I was 16-17 I was doing coke, meth, shrooms, acid, etc. I used to get high so often that I felt fucked up when I was high. Do I think thats a good life to live? No. Do I think weed should be legalized? I dont know. The government taxing marijuana is condoning the use of it. I dont condone the use of marijuana.. so I wouldnt want to tax it.

anyone that thinks people that smoke weed are somehow below you, or less intelligent than you....think again. many powerful and successful men in our country are daily pot smokers (i know a few personally).

if youre allready a moron, weed definitely wont help the situation. however, if you have such a hatred for weed, you should focus that attention on alcohol and tobacco (officially, the two deadliest drugs known to man). there has never been a reported death directly attributed to marijuana....1 in 4 people that smoke cigarettes die from it. ONE IN FOUR.
