I am trying to use xitami (xitami.com) for an old program I am testing out and when I install it on win xp and try to connect it says:
Could not open port 80 - Protocol not known (No error) Does anyone who knows about this program know how to fix this? I have no clue what I am doing and don't even know why i need this xitami thing to open the program I am testing out. |

I don't know much about this server stuff. I am trying out a program I used almost 2 years ago which gives instructions to set things up with xitami. I got it working 2 years ago but I am unable to connect to xitami which is the first step of testing if this program still works. If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong that would be great. Maybe it doesn't work on windows xp.

No I am using a direct connection from my cable modem to my computer. No firewall. Plus this computer is freshly formated so there can't be any virus's yet

This program I beleive only works with Xitami, unless i do some reconfigurations which I don't know how to do. Like you have to move a html file that the program comes with into c:/xitami/website. I will just install win 2000 on another computer and try it out.
