    Hydrogen Concept Car

The hydrogen hummer and Shelby Cobra

"The hydrogen Cobra specs include a top speed of 140 mph and 0-60 mph in four seconds. The downside: the hydrogen tank's range is around 80 miles."

"Anuvu, a fuel cell developer in Sacramento, Calif., says it's almost ready to sell Nissan Frontier pickups and large cargo vans that run on fuel cells and hydrogen.

The Frontier's specs include 0-60 mph in 10 seconds and a top speed of 80 mph. At speeds above 45 mph, the battery drains faster than the fuel cell can recharge it, which reduces its 250-mile city range to just 60 miles on the highway.

Sales director Craig Newhouse promises to deliver either of these "CUVs" ? short for Clean Urban Vehicles ? within 120 days of an order. The cost: $99,995 for the pickup and $149,995 for the van."

Yeah I understand that Fuel Cell cars are coming very soon.... but this thing is some sort of less than $30 add-on to your existing vehicle and supposedly... well.... here is a quote of the text from the 2nd ebay link:

...Install the unit, connect fused wires , and connect a small tube to the air intake or filter housing and you're ready. The generator/reactor uses water as fuel to produce the hydrogen gas. Email me with any questions. Hydrogen boosting will not harm an engine. When installed correctly you can increase your mileage up to 35% realistically, with a few more modifications, you can get much more.

The big problem remains: where to buy hydrogen and how much will it cost? Also, how does this affect the safety of the car? Does it make it Pinto-like? I would hate to get into a smack-up with an exploding car.

This isn't about fuel cells or storage of hydrogen.... these things supposedly generate hydrogen on-demand?

This is way over my head ... but I'm trying to gather some info on it anyway
