A good BACKUP sollution?
Anyone using this kind of backup?
http://www.techsoftpl.com/backup/index.htm It's actually mirroring your disc drive to another hard disc in real time and if one fails you can boot your system from the other one. Seems like a pretty good idea |

You can run a software RAID 1 to a local disk. Since 1997. The problem is that it's not an offsite backup. Best thing to do is backup to tape / DVD / whatever and take it somewhere else. You never know when the building will burn down, computers are stolen, etc. Offsite backup is a must if you're worried about losing your work. I use a notebook HD in a portable external enclosure, attaches via USB, and take it to work from home. |
