Don't take it to the ASPCA. Try finding a local wildlife refuge or animal rescue. Where are you located exactly? Seattle?

Climb the tree and put the little fella close to the nest...The mother is probably hiding cause of all the rucas

you should of let the cat be off with it, that right there is nature, cats love to try and catch squirrels, frogs, and lizards for the most part to eat

He used to let it run around the yard and it always came back, he also used to let it ride with him in his truck all over the place. However one day he shut the truck door and the squirrel got crushed and died. |
I have contacts on the east coast, but I believe you're on the west coast?

I don' want to break anyone's heart, but the wildlife people and the SPCA usually let it die. At least that's what's happened everywhere I've lived. I've had the misfortune of finding baby squirrels a few times in my lfe, whenever I've called the next day to check up, my squirrel had died.
One time there was this little ferral kitten in Olympia, it was snow white but it's intestines were comming out it's backside. I tried for hours and I finally got it to come close to me but when I picked it up it started freaking out and I freaked out because I felt it's intestines and I didn't want to hurt it so I let it go. I called the animal shelter and was crying for them to come and help it and they said no dice. They even yelled at me for letting it go, so I yelled back at them. Some people are nice, but alot of people are just assholes. |

I've seen a lot of squirrels (babies & injured) make it back to the wild, so not all stories end up in their death.
Animal Control are the worse people to call in any situation with injured / dying wildlife. They're pretty much paid to round up animals, Feed and water the animals and if need be, kill said animals once not claimed and scrape dead animals off the road. |
let it loose near a huge tree, it'll make it
