3) They may require you to pay for an appraisal and recommend you use one of their appraisers/partners/scammers

I did get one of the above. scammers trying to spam there services and never really wants to buy shit!

Sosa 12-06-2004 03:42 PM

I've got those emails twice for the same domain. Each time I replied and asked a ton of questions. Haven't got a reply back either time.

Btw. what do you mean with "lock your domains", you're posting it all day long, but I'm not sure what you mean.

Gator 12-06-2004 04:29 PM

I got offers for domains I don't even own.

RedShoe 12-06-2004 04:32 PM

Bump I thought it was real because I had announced on a board a few weeks ago that I was thinking of selling a domain, and sure enough I got this email today.

Thanks for the warning.

SomeCreep 12-06-2004 04:32 PM

Dear z,

This notice is to inform you that your domain transfer was cancelled
due to the reason mentioned below.

Domain Name : xxxx.com
Transferred for : 1 year(s)
Transfer Order ID : xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Credit Card/ Funds Transaction ID : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:

Reason for Cancellation :

Canceled - domain contacts did not respond to verification e-mail

?

For the last time... LOCK YOUR DOMAINS. It is possible to hijack with new Icann rules. There is plenty of mis-info out there, but the bottom line is it all depends on the registrars, some don't have any policy in place. I will not explain or elaborate.

You lose nothing by locking.
But you could lose everything by not locking.

Your decision people.

contact your registrar or look thru the domain manager and set all your domains to LOCK.

I got an offer on one of my domains but it is different than the ones Taboo and others are getting.

Has anyone ever accepted an offer to buy a domain from someone using Certified Offer Service from Network Solutions?

I get those offers every now and then. but usually the offers are very LOW. so I just modify the homepage of the domain and let the buyers email me directly. they'll come back sooner or later.

kowntafit 12-07-2004 09:35 AM

This sounds like a pretty big scam if everyone is getting it.

Sexy Rex 12-07-2004 10:01 AM

Received the email today.

Taboo 12-07-2004 12:00 PM

Yes, they're still sending them. And I'm sure they won't be the only ones doing it.

$tandaman 12-07-2004 12:07 PM

yeah got one of these as well!
