No argument there. I simply suggested that he might give Gary another chance, because I think the guy is funny. I know of place on the net (remaining unnamed) that banned people right and left just because they thought they weren't "cool" enough. Sometimes within seconds of them showing up. Now when ya go there, there's all of seven people that hang there. Every day. Because everyone else has been banned. It makes for a really boring place to hang... everyone in there has exactly the same opinion and take on everything that is brought up. Which is why I moved on and came here. There's lots of different people, opinions, views, jokes... from lots of different people.

I fully understand that the admin of the board can do whatever they want... that was never in question. I just thought Lens might find it in his heart to let the guy come back. That's all.

Amp, Lensman gave warnings to yourself and Gary at the same time, you listened and Gary didn't. In fact he made posts that guaranteed he would be banned. I don't see that Lensman had any choice.

It's a board guys, y'all are taking stuff way too personally.

Okay, well I won't deny that... but it's not like he was trashing everyone or anything... remember that guy that started that thread and bashed the hell out of the Hun? He deserved to get banned... that thread went on far too long and nobody wanted him around. (I can't remember his name)... but Wizzo finally got rid of him when he just wouldn't quit.

I just think the harmless stuff from Gary, that obviously at least half the board did actually enjoy, didn't really warrant a banishment. I mean hell, Lens warned me about the sound files, and I not only stopped, but took out the one's I embedded. It was basically an example of audio overkill to make a point. But there's still other people putting audio into threads... and no one is getting banned for it. Same as there's still stupid comments and posts from other people... it wasn't just Gary.

Anyway, I'm not taking anything personally or anything, I know it's just a message board. I just think the whole thing sucks. Why not just spank him and give him a weeks worth of banishment or something to let it be known that it's time to chill a little, rather than be exiled to webmaster oblivion?

As you mentioned you could make that case for a few people here. I just don't think Lensman or Wizzo has the time to follow all that. You get a warning, either you listen, or you go.

I hate to see people being banned, too, but you could see it coming all through the week. Equinox's post was also a gentle warning.

Well, I can appreciate that. I know how busy I get, so I can only imagine their day. But I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask Lens to reconsider. After all, how many people that have been banned, have had people asking that they be allowed to come back? Not many I think.
