I hadn't heard of it but I just saw the preview for that on TV tonight and I'm almost positive that's John Grisham's Skipping Christmas.
The movie did look like a bunch of Chevy Chase/Vacation mess, but that book was excellent. It had humor to it, but it wasn't lampoonish like the promos looked. It's one of my fave books from him. Skip the movie and get the book.
