read the news links I put in first post. especially the China news link. but read them all and you may see the potential. Definitely not for everyone, it is a time-consuming endeavor but my plan is to have hundreds of bloggers & experts (programmers, designers, SEOs, marketing, etc) working on the same team to build a solid foundation for a future internet empire... that everyone involved owns a stake in.

An empire that can be built in a short time instead of taking years to get a foothold.

if you want a better understanding of BLOGS and their impact, look below:

We could certainly work a deal on traffic trading and/or cross-promotion when you get to that point.

yes, bloggers who bring their own domains will retain ownership of their domains. IP will be jointly owned by bloggers and the network.

re: cross-promotion & traffic-trading

YES, but very limited, because we will be sending the bulk of the traffic to sites/blogs within the network.

if anyone has more questions, please post them.

cayne 12-05-2004 08:46 AM

I'm running a 80k-100k blog, with a higher alexa ranking than stileproject.com - sounds very interesting, but I'm not sure how we can work together, the only real thing I can offer is traffic :)

we will definitely have anime/hentai blogs available for bloggers, sponsors, etc. if you're asking me if I have any domains for sale, then not really, most are reserved for development and will be sharing traffic:

AnimeNews.com
AnimeOnDemand.com
AnimeChannel.com
AnimeBuzz.com
AnimeSearch.com
plus a few more and some hentai domains too.

I am looking for development partners, so email me.

Setting up an "empire" in a market with direct competition from blogger.com (google)....

I'm skeptical.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

you play the game your way, I'll play it my way.

and your reasoning is a bit flawed.

That was then...

Sergey: Larry, are we still going to build that new web site?
Larry: Sergey, are you crazy? There are already too many big players out there. No one would ever find us.

Sergey: True, but let's build one anyway. The big guys don't own the whole market, all we need is a few loyal users.
Larry: But what if we fail? Many of our friends laughed at us when we told them. What if they're right and we're wrong?

Sergey: But there were a few people that believe we've got a chance. Let's do it anyway... we've got nothing to lose.
Larry: Sure, why not. Maybe someday we'll be millionaires.

Sergey: LOL. But we're college drop-outs... do we even stand a chance?
Larry: Big deal... so was Bill Gates. LOL. Hey, maybe someday we'll get to meet him.

Sergey: Yeah, right... like he'll even know we exist.
Larry: LOL, yeah, screw everyone... let's build it anyway.

This is now...

Laughing all the way to the bank.

....

you know the famous saying:

There are 3 kinds of people in life.
- Those who make it happen
- Those who watch it happen
- and those who wonder "what the fuck just happened"

:)

I'm not worried about the competition. The competition can quickly & easily be transformed into a prospective partner or suitor.

Taboo 12-06-2004 05:38 AM

re: lots of emails requesting DJ blogs etc...

Yes, quite a few DJ blog & site domains will be used.

DJBlog.com
DJAgency.com
and just acquired DJSearch.com last week. Plus a few more.

and of course the DJ section of Official.com will be pushing traffic to the blog network.

I've got about 80+ more emails to go thru, I will get to all of them. And thanks for all the feedback & enthusiasm. keep it coming.

maxjohan 12-06-2004 06:39 AM

Good idea or great idea, but too be honest I think it's a little bit overwhelming to try to dominate the market with owning all the domains?

Maybe I missing something?

If the network finds a suitor, everyone on board benefits financially. That's the best part of working together.

I did.

Let me ask a question on here.

I own a few blog domains.

I dont want to provide the daily content for the blogs.

How can I fit in with your empire?

That's the way I prefer it. :)

You keep the domains, you provide the content, I provide the rest.

"the rest" = secret for now.

there is room for you in the network and revenue/traffic-share opportunities. and it's not going to be "my" empire. it will belong to the people who helped build it.

what are the domains?

So what you are telling me is that I would have to provide daily content or find a servcie to provide the content.

That would seem difficult if I had 100 or so domians.

By the way, I dont have any A+ level blog domains, lets just say I have a few A- , a bunch of B+'s.

All are dot.com, two word type with no numbers or hyphens or crap like that.

Alot are mainstream

I would love to discuss this further

Tala 12-06-2004 09:50 AM

I just snatched up three domains that I'm really shocked no one had grabbed.

dominatrixblog.com
dominablog.com
dommeblog.com

Those should prove to be interesting.

fusionx 12-06-2004 10:04 AM

I'm interested in this as well.

I just got into the "artistic nudes" niche, and it's already paying off. I'm getting crazy traffic for only being up for about two weeks (http://www.primanudes.com). It's already up to 10k a day, with just links and SE, but we'll see how long that lasts..

I have:

blognudes.com/net
nudesblog.com/net
nudeartblog.com/net

and I grabbed dailydirtblog.com/net just for fun.

None are online - just grabbed them.

I'm thinking about using these to promote primanudes.com with site updates, member pic uploads, etc. Maybe forum but I don't think I'll have time for that.

"Nude Art" is big on overture (relatively - it's an underserved market, I think).

What blog software are you using? Will there need to be some level of compatibility between the different blog software within the "empire"? Other than the obvious, like RSS capabilities.

Thanks - I'll cc this to you in e-mail.

Here's the problem. Unless you're willing to sell/lease/license/etc the domain... I can't have team-bloggers updating blogs (domains) that we don't have access/control/ownership of. it would be a nightmare when it comes to IP, management, updating, software and keeping the network in tact and moving forward.

It's a different story when you are blogging on your own domain and choose to join the network.

we can discuss other options. but I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible. LOL. considering I've already received several hundred emails from partners, bloggers, etc... this will be tough, but fun.

as soon as I post the cut-off date for joining the network, I'm sure more people will join at the last minute.

I hope I answered some questions, if you have more, please post... it's easier to answer 10 of the same questions at once in this thread. but by all means don't be afraid to email me. I'm currently only 1-2 days behind. :)

Some excellent questions via email...

re: translators
yes, we will offer blogs in other languages, and yes we would like to work with translators. even if you can't blog or don't have the time, we still have room on the team for you.

we have:
countryblog.com
cityblog.com
townblog.com

and we can offer subdomains like:
bangkok.cityblog.com, etc...

re: paying for upgrades, etc
just to make it clear, the TEAM will not pay to use all our tools. Only site members who sign up for extra blog features or for:

BLOGPASS

and yes I own BlogPass.com. :winkwink:

send us more great suggestions & tips.

FunForOne 12-06-2004 01:27 PM

I guess I dont understand the idea.

You are finding successful bloggers and puting them into a directory which you will promote and advertise.

Are you going to require the bloggers to have special links or ads from your network? Is that revenue sharing?

Why would someone with a successful moneymaking blog join your empire? What is in it for them?

I would love to be able to do something with all the blog domains I have, unfortunately, I dont think I can provide quality to all of them as far as content goes.

I would love to know more.

I need a new project.
