tonight, on my way home from hanging out with my friends, i was on the main road and a bike pulled up next to me. revved a little, so i looked over and decided why not, i went with it and raced him. we raced on and off for awhile.

all comes to all, i got into the turning lane and waved bye to the bike, and found that a cop was directly behind me :oface

i turn and next thing i know the cop turns his lights on, i was fucked. i pulled over and turned the car off. the cop walked right up to my window and the first words out his mouth was " so, was that fun!?" i replied "not really, especially since im the one pulled over" then he replied "so you know why i pulled you over?" i told him "i have an idea but im not sure", he asked what i thought and i just told him "not sure, but you are the officer, so whatever you say, goes" he told me to take the keys out of the ignotion and throw them on the dash, and place my hands on the wheel and not to move. and "I had to do 130mph to catch up to you, you were racing that bike, and i seen watched the whole time"

he took my lic., regi, and insurance and walked back to his car.. i sat in my SR powered 240sx for about 15mins, wondering whats going on. he finally came back to my car and asked me to step out and walk around to the back of the car. at this point i was ready to get cuffed and locked up. he then told me "well, Mr. ___, i have some good news, and bad news, the good news is, im not taking your ass to jail, the bad news is, im giving you a ticket, sign here"

i told him im not signing anything until its fully explained to me, he then explained "i am not going to write you up for racing, or excessive speed, or endangering the lives of others, but im writing you a ticket for your modified exhaust and you must have it paid within 30days"

.... i couldnt thank him enough, and i did tell him i know i was wrong, but wow, how lucky am i to get off the hook with that, he told me if he was to ticket me for what i should have been ticketed for, i would not only be in jail right now, my car would be impounded, and i would have been fined well over $700, not including bail, which would have been another close $500.

he was a young guy, but i really cant thank him enough for what he did, if it was any other offiecer, i would be jailed right now, and my car would be gone, not to mention i wouldnt see the streets for a long time.. i am so happy, i had to shake his hand and thank him a million more times.

if you are ever pulled over, be very polite, thank him no matter what, i even thanked him for writing me a ticket, ti doesnt matter what he says, thank him for it, either way he is right in the end, even if you think hes not... its his word vs yours.

now, also i think that the only reason i got away with it, was because he had no proof of my speeds, let alone that i was racing, because i never really admited it.

with this night over, i am a very lucky guy and found a new respect for officers, i always thought each and every one of them were out to get us, but i have been proven wrong with a second chance

You are lucky...when I was young I was racing one time ...being young and stupid I go in the on coming lane...next thing I knew 4 cop cars behind me and one in front...Pull me over with guns drawn and pull my buddy through the passenger window and cuff him and haul my ass in to jail...needless to say 10 points and a 500 dollar fine made me not be so stupid again

yes im very lucky, only thing now is, since i got a noise voilation ticket (exhaust) , they will want to check my car out to be sure i fix it, problem with that is... everything on my car is illegal, i have a JDM motor swap and all, not even a motor made in the states... so if they ask to look under the hood, im fucked, my VIN dont match anything in that car, everything stock has been replaced

You got lucky. The good thing with HPD out here is that they're all pretty cool. Last week when I was drunk I went up to a group of like 6 or 7 officers and said "hey, I am drunk, will you give me a field sobriety test, because I really think that I could pass it." They started laughing, one said "we're not going to do that and give any secrets away" and another one said "plus that's too much work for us."

Got a ticket for +4 points, 18MPH over the limit. Had it reduced by the prosecutor to +2 points, because it was a first violation.

Total damage: $393
Fines are doubled in a "65MPH Zone", which happens to be all highways in the state. Oh and I somehow happened to avoid the "McGreevey Tax", which the judge referred to it as, which eseentially adds $250 to every ticket in the state.

I'm running out of reasons as to why anybody would want to live in this shithole I call home, Jersey.

I was pulled over on a TX freeway for going over 100 in a 60mph zone and the cop said he would have taken by to jail but I was very polite and courteous. So it does pay off... There is no reason to get smart and angry when you are the one that was breaking the law... you are lucky!

I got a reckless driving for squealing my tires in an empty parking lot on a Sunday and it resulted in my insurance being cancelled and my rates going up over $100 a month... I was travelling under 15mph.

Some things don't make sense... The speeding was a larger fine but didn't affect my insurance much... the second was a $100 ticket but cancelled my insurance.
