I almost always pay for everything :)

Occasionally, she tries to pay, but I put up one hell of a fight.

Well, I have to say I have been paying 90% of the time because my bf is out of work right now and low on cash, and we've been going out a lot all the time lately dining out and such... I don't mind though, because I make more than he does, and I know he's having problems right now.

But ideally I would really prefer to pay exactly 50/50. I really don't need anyone to pay for me, and I don't expect anyone to pay for me just because I'm female. I can provide for myself and I really don't need anything from any man. If I have sex with someone, I do so because I choose, not because I got a free meal. If I did, that would make me a hooker. Anyways, once you let a man pay for you all the time, they might get a sense of "entitlement" like you owe them something just because they paid for a lousy meal. In my opinion it's better to keep it mutual so that way the power is equal, because whoever pays gets more power in a weird way. Perhaps that could be a reason why I don't mind paying; because I like power and control.

Sometimes I do feel that sometimes when I pay, in some kind of subconscious way I get more power and get away with things more...

Also, some guys mind if you pay for them in public because they get embarrassed and don't feel "manly" Luckily my guy doesn't have this issue and I don't mind paying...

Also I don't "pretend" to pay just to make a gesture like i know some girls do. I will really go for it and actually freakin' pay. I just see it as a sign of independence. It just means that I can take care of myself and don't need anything from the. They should appreciate that even more and that would prove that I am with them for their companionshop, not a free meal or night out.
