Of course it COULD be Satan. But it could also be the Easter Bunny. I still don't understand the fascination with looking for faces in smoke, rocks, waves, clouds, or alphabet soup.
I think someone else already said it too.... you can find faces ANYWHERE if you really want to see one. I see all kinds of scary shit in chicken fajitas. Still doesn't mean it's a sign from God or the devil or anything else. |

If any of you have taken a sculpture or drawing class you will find that it is VERY difficult to create something that looks like a face... Simple shadows my ass... This face in the smoke not only has distinct eyes, a nose clearly connected w/ ridges above the eyes, an elongated mouth, a defined chin and jaw, a brow, cheek bones, horns... On top of all that the features are proportionate and symmetric. This is no small accident in smoke and I challenge anyone to photograph smoke and to find a face half as realistic as this one. I'm sure you will be spending hours and hours blowing smoke. The mouth and nose especially have a very distinct similarity to the mouth and nose of a skull. Not only that but the face smiles in the eyes and mouth simultaneously -- the mouth openening as if in a laugh. For those of you that don't see it -- I challenge you to pick up a pencil and even draw a realistic looking face -- I'm sure your drawing will look more like the easter bunny or pacman so shut the fuck up. Hehe... I think more likely this was the product of an animator using a morphing tool to displace, warp, or dodge/burn the existing smoke into the desired configuration of a laughing demonic face -- an image we have commonly seen in many Disney movies. Anyway the second face that was posted here seems too flat and triangular to me -- but nonetheless the face still jumps out at you... The face is SIMPLE FUCKING SHADOWS.
I've been drawing shit since I've been 5, and I don't mean stick men. I'm an artist. Perhaps you haven't realized that there is infinite detail in smoke. The higher the resolution of the video, the exponentially higher the chances of finding anything. The simpler it is, like a face that only requires a few shadows (not 10 like you've mentioned - eyes and a nose proportionally spaced will do), makes it vastly easier to find. There's tons of shadow photos of supposed faces and crap that are created with a few shadows, and this is the case for this. I wouldn't be surprised if the fucking video compressing added some. People are so UNAWARE of the chances of anything. Think about your other features like the horns... the shadows that make the horn could appear almost any height above the 'face', and it would still look like horns. what's the chances of this? They need not appear proportionally to anything - they can almost exist anywhere. There are a unfathominable number of ways you could arrange shadows to look like a human face. Goddammit. People are so fucking stupid. It's all mathematics and probability. I bet the people who narrowly escaped death on tuesday and praising god for it - little do they realize, that with such HUGE numbers of people involved, there WILL ALWAYS BE a few who just made it out, there will always be a few who should have been at work, but were late, there will always be people who should have been on the plane who were not. Increase the people involved in the situation by 10x, and now you have 10x the people praising god at some miracle that prevented them from being there. But consider this (as well as everyone else): Let's say we determine the chances of a face appearing in a cloud of random smoke to be 1 in 1,000. The fact that it appeared in this particular cloud of smoke STILL MEANS NOTHING. All I have to do is show you the last 1,000 clouds of smoke from explosions shown on TV (picked randomly) that show no face, to PROVE that this DOES NOT DEFY MATHEMATIC PROBABILITY. But, if you are saying it's not probable that it happened, and there's something bigger behind it (which is what I am arguing about in my posts), I disagee. Religion is a nasty thing to argue about, and I really don't have the time for it here. The only thing I can say is that everyone should keep an open mind. That includes me on the fact that there may be some greater power behind this, but you have to create your conclusions with logic, not with simple opinion.
I wonder what the cost of this disaster amounts to, if you include all the bickering that's going on as a result of it? Not many people are actually working (not that they should at a time like this, but life does have to go on). |
