So GalleryGuy hits me up on ICQ, says I stole his design

I ask him what he is talking about and it appears I am using a design on his for modelflats.com on one of my tgp's...

He demands $100 and I am like, dude, you sell them on your site for $20? He wants to take it to the boards...

My question is, is $100 fair for a non-exclusive gallery that will probably never generate that much money since it is on a 50K tgp and I don't post galleries to other tgps?

Or is $20 adequate for a design that isn't mine exclusively anyway?

I have never stolen a design from anyone and that's the subject at hand. You stole it so you owe him whatever he says you owe him. $100 isn't unreasonable for a TGP design anyway.

I didn't know he was a designer. I liked the gallery and my tgp software has the ability to spyder galleries and edit the affiliate codes. If it wasn't part of the software I wouldn't have figured it was something normal to the industry. Kinda like a sponsor who uses the skimming feature. Which brings to mind, what the fuck are most of you opening your mouths in my thread for?

The GalleryGuy and I have come to an understanding. Seems he was only getting 1/2 of my ICQ messages and then only parts of the ones that did send. So he basically thought I was trying to dodge him.

Thanks everyone for your input. I got lessoned a bit. When I write my book, I will be sure to include this chapter.

You did steal my design and (as I explained to you on ICQ) I really don't appreciate that.

I always try to treat people fair and never cheat so when I get cheated I get really angry.

Even that I own some fairly big TGPs I have to make some unique galleries to make money from them. Hosted galleries from sponsors are shit these days because all TGPs are using the same galleries so I make my own galleries. Of course to improve my ratio and it works.

I simply can't get into my head how you couldn't see you were doing something shitty when you took that design and started using it. You even took my thumbnails (that were cropped - odd size - so it took quite a bit of time to make them).

Not only do I run some clean sites but I also run GalleryGuy.com where I design for other webmasters. If all webmasters just took my stuff I wouldn't make much.

I could have knocked your trade script out in an hour or two but all I asked for was 100 dollars. You even told me not to "talk to you in that tone".
