Rentaghost star Weir dies at 94

Actress Molly Weir, who was best known for playing Hazel the McWitch in children's TV series Rentaghost, has died aged 94.
Born in Glasgow, Weir started her career in radio, joining the It's That Man Again comedy team in the 1940s.

She later joined the cast of Life With The Lyons, which later transferred from radio to television.

Weir joined the cast of Rentaghost in the late 1970s, staying with the series until it ended in 1984.

The four feet, 10 inches tall actress also appeared in many films, and was a prolific author too, having described her upbringing in her Trilogy of Scottish Childhood.

Weir also contributed to Radio 4's Woman's Hour as well as Children's Hour, and she was also in demand for commercials and voiceovers.
