Real rock ?

I went to a lot of punk concerts ... but if you consider heavy metal rock then ti was the Summer Sanitarium with Metallica Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park

The Stones when I was 3 weeks old.

As for favorite concert, it's the Queensryche/Dream Theater show I saw in Seattle in '03. fuckin AWESOME show!

I went to see Metallica twice at the great western forum when their Black album came out. they played for over 3 hours at both of them.

Van Halen in May of 1981 at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY. Or it might have been ACDC that same year. Not sure which was first.

On that note, I caught a steel toe boot in the face from a crowd surfer the 2nd time I saw them. Never been so proud of a black eye in my life.

Oh yeah also say Motley Crue in 94 on their small theater tour. Louisville Palace - 2500 seats I think. They did a hell of an acoutstic set that nite.

Kitchener, Ontario, around 1969 or 1970. There were maybe 1000 people in the crowd to see this band that had just released their first album, and nobody had ever heard of them. We were in the second row. It was Led Zeppelin. I lost my hearing for a week.

In my youth I also saw the Doors, Credence, Johnny and Edgar Winter, the Stones, Mothers of Invention, Stevie Wonder, Santana, The Who, Janis Joplin, Gary Pucket and the Union Gap (lol), Procul Harem, Black Sabbath, Guess Who, and some others.

First show was Iron maiden with twisted sister at the cow palace in san francisco was like 15 or 16 I think.

A friend of mine scored fantastic seats for free and took me along to see ZZTop....awesome concert.

I think it was The Guess Who, when I was like 8 years old or something like that...

1969.

the old fillmore on market street, bill graham personally got on stage and introduced the bands.

youngbloods and janis joplin.

breathed billows and billows of marijuana smoke, there was an emphasis on sharing, as joints were passed around.

people were making out on the pillows on the floor.

sweaty long haired girls with flowers in their hair and hairy armpits got on stage in sack dresses, and pulled their tops down and danced with naked breasts to the delight of the crowd.

big light shows were projected on the walls, like a lava lamp.

it was truly a different era then, and really was the summer of love.

will never forget it as long as i live.

i seen Stevie Ray Vaughn in Davenport Iowa about 15-20yrs ago, i was only 5-10yrs old but i remember it being soooooooooo awesome, for sure when he played the guitar behind his head :thumbsup

Metallica--Great show! I remember it like it was yesterday

First show I went to had like 6 bands, headlined by NOFX, paid like $6. Had New Bomb Turks, the Red Aunts, and I can't remember the rest. I think... maybe strung out was there too or tilt, but I cant be certain.

Altamont, and I am pretty sure only one guy was killed, and he had it coming. Never bring a gun to a knife fight with the HA unless you plan on using it

I saw RHCP in concert about 6 years ago or so. They were one of the lead acts for the Stones, Voodoo Lounge Tour.

I was looking forward to seeing them, but in all honesty, I thought they sucked. They blew a great opportunity.

That concert will be in the history books. It already is.

Seen most of those (and a ton of others), but I have to say, the Winters brothers totally sucked. Just tried to out scream each other. Got boring after the first 5 or 10 minutes

I saw them in '78 at the Seattle Center Coliseum and they were terrible. Totally fucked up. Joe Perry was staggering around playing about half a measure behind the band for the entire night. If I ever meet him or Steven Tyler I'm gonna get my fuckin' $8.50 back!
