Adult webmaster: What does it take?

Hi all,

Im a newb in the business and I seriously need to know what it takes to become a full time adult webmaster.

You need traffic and know how to sell.. ok i know that part.

Are people making a full time income submitting galleries or does it take more? Do you need to run a high traffic tgp or link list?

Do you need to do all of the above to make it full time? I want to quit my fucking job and Im a crazy hard worker..

In your opinion.. what does it take to work from home slinging porn and living well?

have you read any articles or anything like that? Most people don't make enough from just gallery submitting, some do but most don't from my understanding. Have you done anything with sales/marketing before? Can you design good pages?

What are you capable of?

It takes vast knowledge in many fields to even begin to be profitable on your own., either that or a ton of start up cash and a 6 figure domain.

it takes alot of work these days, put it this way if you are just starting out you are already years behind,

but dont worry there is always a piece of the pie if your are willing to work for it.

i suggest starting off with a few galleries and understanding traffic and why people pull out the CC.

dont expect $ overnight, this isnt the internet boom anymore, some webmasters can take years to see a worthwhile turnover.

everything is about how to make a sale, try to think outside the box, tgps and freesites are not the only thing out there.

Sosa,

I have been reading adult webmaster sites for a few months and bought my first domain 2 weeks ago.

I've been submitting free sites to about 100 link lists / avs's daily but thats about it right now and I have a decent little hub built. I have a 10/gig per month server plan and am not going to touch TGPing untill i get the hang of free sites first.

I think i design pages that will sell but thats my opinion. I can pm you a few examples ig you want.

I dont have any sales experience but ive been surfing porn for years. Ive seen it all and can tell what pages will sell and shitty ones that wont.

Things newbies need to understand:

-its actually WORK!! yep, you'll be at the pc 8-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week with little-to-no paycheck for a month or so till you start "building your empire"

-you have to LEARN how to do new shit. If you have this "ahh i dont need to learn that" mentality, get out before you even start.

-network with other webmasters. (keep a clean rep too.)

-takes money to make money. be prepared to shell out cash for hosting, domains, a design here and there, and other useful tools to help you along the way.

-read & learn something new in this biz everyday. its constantly changing, so keep up or get out.

if you cant handle all of this PLUS more, dont even bother starting.

If you think you can, well then, welcome to the biz.

How many of you people here are "full timers"?

What have you done and are doing in general to bring in the $?

What does it take? =)

sub free sites and galleries and run a tgp or two. Is that it? I doubt it.

I agree... but depending how you do things, if you put in those 8-12hour days at the start... you should be working, less, and less and less.

I am at a computer no more than 3hours/day, doing the same stuff that use to take me 8-12hours/day.

this is the shit YOU have to learn. no one is going to spoon feed you and say "go here, do this and this and thats it."

YOU have to learn what it takes, YOU have to figure out whats the best way for YOU to earn the money. read tutorials, ask questions, do what you know and then GROW on that.

Starting a TGP is not exactly profitable until you get more than 10,000hits/day niche specific.. or 50-100,000 general traffic.

I would pick a unique idea... whether it be blonde chicks with black pantyhose that have a secret tranny surprise.. micro niche..

Make an AVS... buy some content, build galleries, and start sending traffic to your AVS from the galleries you submit...

If you get friendly with the hun, you could live off a submission with him/day.

Babagirls,

Thats fair. =)

just to clarify, im not asking for someone to hold my hand. I want to build my way up like everyone else.

I also understand that its a life style. Im ready for it.

I simply wanted to hear from people that have been in the biz for years and make a full time living.

I have 0 cash to spend which will make things alot slower for me.

My current plan is to build 100 free sites with sponsor content and get em listed on the smaller link lists and search engines.

any cash from that will go into content and bigger projets.

I think if i build good sites and have them all inter linked with full page adds and a few good filter pages ill do "ok"

Its a base for my starting empire so to speak

Any thoughts?

I have been "knocking on the door" for 2 years and still haven't turned a profit yet. Be prepared to meet immense resistance on your journey to the ultimate job. My crew has been working on content, design, networking, and marketing for about 5 years and we learn from our mistakes every day.

I have found that people in this business are very stingy with their information. They want to protect their market share. Best advise I can give is to absorb as much information as possible and sort out the bullshit form the gold. Remember that you are competition to everyone in this industry and they will treat you as such until you show them that you are here to stay.

Good Luck and take it slow...

The best advice I can give you is have patience. It can be so so so frustrating until you find the right mix to make it work. I started with TGP's and now I work for a major Sponser and dabble in some content work also. Freesites, galleries can make money but you must and I repeat must be dedicated. You will fail over and over again and one day....BAM it will fall into place. Best of luck, hit me up if you want some other insites.

this is a really SIMPLE business - and that's the best and worst part of it - you get BACK exactly what you PUT IN to it. Hard work
returns money - slackers get little or are forced to go the scam or spam route or work for THE MAN for a modest paycheck.

it has always been this way and will continue to be that way - months I cruise along doing things half assed and slacking I see the difference very quickly in my bank account, put my head down and work and like magic the bank account begins filling up again.

now more than ever there's little hope of much success without 100% effort on a project - whatever level you are at in this business. people who cruise because things have gone well for themselves wake up one day and don't know what hit them - then they scramble or start looking for 9 to 5 jobs in the 'real world'.

Well the first sign that you will be a success is that you are willing to learn. You would be surprized how many people just expect the money to fall into their laps. So Bravo on that and like it's been mentioned patience is key. I would keep your day job and work this hard at night and keep doing so until you have enough were you can go porn by itself...Good Luck and if I can help you in any way let me know...
