National Treasure - Movie Review

I can't remember the last time I saw a movie and screamed Boo at the screen... oh wait yes I can the MAtrix 3 I was crying Shannon can attest to that.

This movie had so much potential. Then the woman had to get involved and ruined everything. THe plot was great, Charecter development sucked but the idea was there.
Then the campiness set in... sure you tried to kill me with 400 pounds of gunpowder but I'll still help you find a treasure.

bullshit !

the ending was horse shit too... and the retard from Gigli ruined the movie as well...

I'm a bit pissed because I was hoping for a good movie proves that PG movies suck and will always suck

I liked it!

Movies are just entertainment to me. I dont take them to seriously at all or worry about reviewing them.

I agree they could have expanded on things a bit, but all in all it was a really good flick.

I was entertained, but then again, I'm easy.

I'm actually avoiding that movie because of the plot.

It just seems like an obvious election-time politically motivated flag saluting action movie with a weak plot to me. A treasure map on the back of the declaration of independance. Sounds like something out of a children's cartoon.

wasn't great and pretty simplistic...

I agree that the girl had nothing to bring to the plot...

I don't pay to go to the movie house, but if I had I would be upset after this weak flick...

I love in the movie "Babe" when the farmer says "That'll do pig."

That brings tears to my eyes every time.

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about this one. I think I'm gonna wait until it comes out on DVD.

I thought the movie was fine. I thought it was well paced and interesting. Its no gore fest nor will it win any awards.

If you have kids that aren't too young, this is a good movie to see.

I liked it but the whole premise of the movie was a bit far fetdhed and the ending was predictable.

So so true.

Garrett, I came to the same conclusion you did, just from seeing the trailer.

It really isnt a Flag Waving movie at all though. Not really in the least bit. It does give the Declaration its rightful due, but thats about it.

Like I said, it wasnt the best movie I ever seen, but it didnt suck. Sometimes being a critic takes all the fun out of just going out and enjoying yourself. Give me a soda and popcorn and Im all set, regarless of the movie. Entertain me.

I watched the "on the Set' featurette on some channel last night - they were all exicted to be shooting at the real declaration locations and such - I changed the channel - that was enough to seal it's doom for me - if that's all it got to be excited about - then so what? is this some philadelphia tourism propaganda tool? sounds lame anyway - someone else posted they liked it so I was kinda interested but now I will pass.
