Just got a tooth extracted, I almost screamed

I dont get it, got FOUR HUGE novocaine shots and it fucking hurt so mucj I wanted to scream.

My dentist said he doesnt believe me its hurting, he "knows" its not possible

i had all four wisdom teeth extracted and they gave me four shots in each tooth. i thought i was going to die.

Ive been to surgery and all kinds of shit and nothing hurt like my teeth do when the dentists are trying to fix them

First change dentist - there's no way I'd let someone who can't accept something so fundemental near my mouth.

Also if you're anything like me local anaesthetic takes MUCH longer than they usually allow to kick in. I now make the dentist wait an extra 10-15 mins before starting otherwise my mouth is numb AFTER he's done the work rather than during. It took me years of pain to realise - until then I just presumed dentists were meant to hurt that much.

They did a bunch of repair on my teeth last year and I know they always give you a set amount of that stuff then if it hurts they give you more .. the only problem being they've gotta hit that nerve to know its not enough , So I just scream in pain the minute I hear picking and ask for more !

I changed my dentist about a year ago.

You have a good point with the time it takes for the stuff to kick in, im probably just like you.. Ill make him wait longer next time, hopefully it will help

Thing is I got so stuffed with this shit today it's unreal.

First I got a normal dose (2 small injections, one for each side), then it hurt like a fucker so I got one huge shot spread to both sides and then another huge one... Didnt help at all

2 usually make me not feel a thing (thats when he is drilling the teeth)
