watching "Last Letters From Home" on HBO

Man this shit is sad....Listening to these parents cry while they read their kids letters is fucked up. I can't even get my work done because my eyes keep watering up.

I think things like that should be played on broadcast TV along with all reports of deaths/injuries/attrocities during war. Too many people are quick stick their head in the sand or to say, "Turn it into a parking lot" and they need to see that their videogame view of war is not the reality.

I caught it a couple of weeks ago. I like that there was no narration other than the families telling their stories and reading the letters. Depressing but a nice tribute to these people and very well done.

We are talking about people's sons/daughters/mothers/fathers/brothers/sisters that were sent to be blown up in Iraq. Isn't it great that others have shed blood so that you don't have to be inconvenienced and continued your right to and the freedom to be a "coolfuck" and stand up and yell fuck em all?

I wish nothing but blessings on each and every one of the people who have lost a loved one in Iraq or will in the future, although I imagine it will be awhile before they feel blessed about anything
