why does every sponsor have to shave?

if sponsors can only afford to pay out $20 a sale, why dont they just pay $20 a sale, instead of having outrageous payouts and shaving 50% of traffic, or 50% of signups.

the bad thing is everyone in the industry does it.

do we as webmasters just have to accept that "that's how things are" and move on with our traffic, knowing we are getting signups that arent paid on?

this really frustrates me beyond belief

To attract people to the program, offering $50 per sale will get alot more people talking about your program.

Do you really think those sites can payout to affiliates sometimes more then the cost of a membership?
Someone is going to get ripped, its either the affiliate or the customer and its to dangerous to rip the customer.

But as to your comment on everyone shaving, not everyone shaves, only those who have to trick webmasters into thinking they will be be millionaires are the ones shaving.

remember, its it looks to good to be true it probably is.

In the old days when i wasn't making any green i used to think the same, alot of frustration, alot of work and no money.
I understand what you feel BUT you have to keep working.
If you aren't making and green try changing galleries or the way you drive traffic....... in the end you will succeed. I don't care anymore about shaving or not shaving sponsors, if they wheren't here, i wouldn't be making the money i make right now. If i make a descent amount and they shave or i loose a few signups i don't care, after all, they make the sites, provide them to us and most of them provide you a way to make money with ZERO investement. If you don't like shaving, invest in your own paysite, setting up servers, buy scripts and maintain it all

I don't know how one could shave when the program uses a 3 rd party for billing and stats tracking... Forget all these "pie in the sky" payouts! Join some rev. share programs and send traffic and get paid... They say, "You can lead a webmaster to the real money... but it's a bitch to make them take it!"

With that said, Join and promote the girls of pineapplepink!

All I'm gonna say is that I'm still making decent change off of rev-share sites I stopped promoting a long time ago.

Its always good to push some quality revshare sites.

Not every sponsor shave - only those who cant make money without shaving - or the greedy ones

In my opinion - saying "live with it" is totally BS. You don't have to live with it, because there are enough sponsors that dont shave and they deserve the traffic. All big serious affiliates who has promoted many sites know this, or should know it, and they stop promoting those sites.
Yeah, its expensive to run a paysite, but I dont think they will live much longer when they start shaving. Rumors will cost more than they gain in shaving.

Using 3rd part processor does not mean they cant shave. There are many tricks; they can still manipulate with scripts on FHGs, Potds and other sites, geotarget traffic, cut off cookies and so on.

If you wanna know some very good tips about avoiding shaving, hit me up on ICQ 217-240-358 and I will tell you how

we dont shave

CCBill stats/payments for

http://www.MashaWorld.com
http://www.GroupSexVirgins.com
http://www.IFuckThem.com

and back to the question, most of PPS sponsors shave. I completely agree with Dirty Dane. They claim high payouts as an effort to gain webmasters normally they wouldn't start promoting their sites.

I don't understand the logic either of offering high payouts knowing you have to shave your affiliates sales to afford the payouts. If affiliates are happy with it as some have stated here then the shaving will continue.

Nahh.... not all of u s shave. But those of us that don't, we don't offer the insanely high payouts, so it's harder to compete with those that do. I know a few of the bigger ones don't, but a lot of them do.... and they are the ones that want to "look" big when they aren't. Those of us that don't shave, we payout what we can and still make a little cash and make sure you get credit for all sales as well.

Check out www.cswcash.com , we don't shave anything anywhere.. we offer you stats from the processor and our inhouse stats so that you can cross compare. If something doesn't match up somewhere on either end, you can damn well better believe I am going to be the first to demand to know why! You can choose your payout method with me as well... whether it be CCBill, Paycom, Epassporte or Wire payments...... the choice is all yours.

Happy or without knowledge.

I dont know about others, but I dont choose sponsors from which percental payout they offering. Most offer 50 %.

This hole focusing on % does not mean anything, except it "looks like a good deal", because in the end it is $/click that counts. Ratios are also meaningless to compare, if you dont calculate in the signup prices too.

So, some of my sponsors have 25 % payout, but $/click is better than many of the other 50 % sites.

Because you'll sign up a lot more affilates @ $40/ps than @ $20/ps

Of course, some folks will tell you they pay that without shaving by expertly handling exits, member's area upsells, and email collection boxes, etc.
