.mov to .avi or how to remove a sound?

Got this quicktime movie I need for presentation but it has some shitty sounds I don't need so I was thinking of converting it into .avi file and replacing sound with my own..
Installed a programm called "VideoConverter" from AliveMedia and tried to convert the .mov file, but got an error saying

"File cannot be opened, maybe there is something with the source file "

Tried downloading the file again, same shit.

So I was thinking is there anyway to turn off the sound from that file? That way I can run an mp3 on the background and just run that movie file.

Thanks in advance

How big is your file? Can I see it.

Youll have to use a video editing/encoding program and just reencode it with the new sound put in or no sound at all.

just the whole thing.

I am gonna show the vid and talk about that product. If there was just music playing that would be cool, but there is that chick talking and it won't work like that.

Is there an easy way to replace that sound with some kind of other music? or atleast just make it silent?

Easiest way,, turn the volume down when you play it.

You can try it now, it works!

Other than that youre getting into more complicated territory.

Well you can play the mp3 in the background , just make sure when you turn the volume up on the mp3 it doesnt turn the volume up on the player too, sometimes it does that. Juat play with it and find something, youll get it. Good luck.
