Six people died of carbon monoxide poisoning by burning charcoal stoves in their cars, in the latest of the growing number of suicide pacts in Japan, police said today.

Three people -- a 21-year-old university student, a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman with a part-time job -- were found dead in a car in the southern city of Fukuoka yesterday, police said.

The suicide pact was suspected to have been arranged over the internet as the three came from different parts of Japan.

In October, nine people were found dead from carbon monoxide poisoning in rented vehicles near Tokyo. The suicides were organised by two women who met over the internet and tried but failed in a previous attempt to kill themselves together.

There is some book with details how to commit suicide out in Japan, it reccomends some forest too. The rate of suicides in that forest at the foot of some mountains has jumped dramatically.

The author is a total nut, he makes no excuses and says it should be available to teens etc.. "because they need it the most" or something along those lines.

I guess suicide is an honorable way to deal with failure etc in japanese culture.. .

the forest he's talking about is the one at the base of mt. fuji

Funny - when arabs do suicide packs they usually blow up the people around them. I think we can certainly call the Japanese civilized people
