NEXUSXI insufficient funds --returned checks

Am I the only person who got a check for nov 1 returned? They bounced my check for 2,200, like everyone else with NEXUS, I didn't get paid on the 15th. Anybody have bounced checks? Since they are going out of business they left owing me thousands of dollars. Do you think NEXUSXI will really pay us back like they claim they will or should I seek legal advise?

I presume you've seen their official announcement? I don't have a link to it as it was pasted to me on ICQ, but it said that you should return any checks you have. I guess you had already deposited it.

It also said something about how they've disconnected their phone lines in order to save money.

Yes, I got the emails although they ignore all mine. I recommend those who haven't cashed the checks from the 1st not to bother because you'll just wind up being charged another $25+ from your bank.

If you were earning $2200 in a single period why didn't you have them send you a wire each week?

Why does it matter? Saved me $60 /$80 month. I don't remember how much the wire fee was. I had only been using them for a few months and wasn't comfortable about giving another processor my banking information yet.

Does anyone have any advice if I should wait out the 6 - 9 months they claim it will take to send us our money back or should I get a lawyer or a collection service?

It matters because you saved $80 but lost $2200.

I recently switched from cheques to wires at another processor, the wire fee is an added cost but things are far too unstable these days to risk losing the bulk of my funds.

Sorry I can't give you any specific advice on what to do. I hope it works out for you.

According to them, their bank froze their accounts.

You can reject their terms of 6-9 months and proceed with collections as soon as they are overdue in paying you.

Going after the bank as a creditor with a claim against NexusXi might have a better chance of getting somewhere.
