At least in the US you can hear pretty much both side of the story. If you like Michael Moore you can watch CBS or listen to NPR, if you like GWB you can watch FOX News or listen to Michael Savage.
In France for example, you'd be hard pressed to find any media broadcasting pro-American or even neutral sentiments.
Their press is biased against anything US and does not give the other side of the story to their listeners.
Any person wanting to hear the non-government line has to turn to the internet. That is valid for most European countries, except Italy and the Netherlands...
