Like the Gulf War? These guys are serious and will play to win. Not be wanting to throw down their guns. Nor will they be on a fairly flat surface to hit with planes. Read back on the Viet Cong or read the information on the Russian War with Afghanistan.

Oh Playa... lol I remember Saddams folly very well. Point being is we aren't going to fight a country and bomb them all over... we have to go to quite a few countries to get these guys. Sheesh they don't want JUST binLadin... or JUST his group.

They want to go after different terrorists groups in many places in the World. Where have you guys been keeping your heads? In the sand?

It'd be great if it were over real quick, but grabbing one guy from each terrorist group doesn't solve the problem. They have to grab the whole group of leaders and as many others as they can get.

Maybe its just my age, but I was in my 30's when Desert Storm started not in jr high or elementary school. I remember it like yesterday just about. And I also know guys that fought in more serious wars against enemies more along the lines of religious fantatics. Those guys didn't throw down guns unless they were broken and you were too far to allow them to throw it at you.

Don't listen the the arm chair generals that have been spouting off. Take this thing DEADLY serious. Believe me, those guys over there are. If we grab a few and other countries grab up the ones to turn in in their countries then it might be over fairly quick. But don't count on it. And I know the average age of people in here. Most of you were still trying to figure out how to undo a bra when desert storm happened and surely weren't being too concerned about that.

But this isn't Iraq and these aren't men that are forced to be soldiers. They are battle hardened head cases with the skill to kill 50 Iraqi's and not break a sweat. I may try to be pacifast but it doesn't mean I haven't read and watched and thought. Let alone talk to better men than some in here that fought in Nam, Cambodia, Laos and other places where the enemy shot back. Seriously shot back.

So don't go thinking a few missiles or bomb runs will be all it takes. We're not fighting countries. We're fighting armed criminals. And they don't rob 7-11's or sell dope on the corner. They are trained killers.

The Iraqi army is a conventional one, while the Mujahadeen has always been unconventional. We're talking about mule trains through the mountains, not road or rail transport.

If it was me, I would start a very subversive ground attack, and ask for russian cooperation (since they were there recently)

Establish 1-2 ground bases in rugged defendable terrain - strike out and attack -gather intelligence

Just when they think that they know where you are, pack up and move the ground troops every couple of days

Tanks and big ground vehicles are pretty much useless, so the ground troops should have cobras and support helos, and as they move to various targets, support them by air with a-10s and harriers

intelligence could plant listening devices in locales and what have you, as they leave, then when rebels move back home, they can call belated cruise strikes

This is the worst tragedy that this country has seen, I think if Bin Laden isnt turned over to us, you can bet that a long, ugly war is gonna start real soon.

They already started to send troops out. And like Bush said, there will be no disscusion on when attacks will begin . Only discusion after the first attacks are made.

I agree with Gemini on this one. There is no easy solution in Afghanistan. Those guys are pretty fucken skilled they got even more skilled after the war with the russians. Rip I think all that been tried by the russians. If you will try to Fly there to much they will take all the aircrafts like flies from their caves.

The irony is that america equipped them with american weapons that they gona use agains Us. The same with Israel gave palestinians american weapons to protect the order and they using it to kill civilians. Sad fact is world wars kick everything back on its feet, its been too long. We need a good clean out to knock a few people back down to earth.

I have been listening to a lot of international reports, and I think it's a war that you cannot win, unless by some means of careful planning, all of the terroist cells are eliminated.

Every attack that the US makes will up the stakes, some nutcase is liable to walk into NYC with a nuke in a suitcase
