Poker Pulse is VERY accurate - when there are errors they post within 36 hours the correct stats for that period and why there was a miscalculation ..

If there is anyone in this post looking to invest in a project that will compete directly with PartyPoker, at their level, please contact me at [email protected]
There is a project in progress, which is also in the state of financing, which is doing just that. We of course do not license any of the software listed here, we have a team of professionals working on our own. We are only looking for people seriously interested in this business. |

Xamo, plan on raising about $25 - $30 million dollars for a 3 month advertising campaign to get 1/4th of party's traffic. You should also plan on another $2.5 million dollars for licensing the proper server setup to handle this kind of load, the proper techies that can handle this, and the cash you will need in reserves to process the type of money you are talking about..
So all in all you plan on raising atleast $35 million for the first 3 - 4 months of operation right ? Good luck mate!! Would love to see the beta software you have planned. If you need a card room manager (I'm serious here) that knows the business ins and outs along with the game very well please let me know.. Actually would love to have a job in that field. In other words comprable to executive host at a casino with the additional responsibilites of arranging proper tournament strategy, making players feel they ar important, all that good stuff.. |

blah blah blah $2.5mil for server setups? What kind of setup would that be? lol and raising $25-30mil for advertising? hah You know when you spend money on advertising you get them back right? You can spend 1mil/month on ad revenues while having in hand 250k or even less Let me guess the gambling license costs 3-4mil again right? ;...... |

Do you realize just a SWITCH for a network the size and with the security that would be required could easily run in excess of 100,000.00.
The programmers and system administrators you want to run that server farm properly will cost you a sign on bonus of 100K with a salary that will be rather large to avoid the non stop (guessing you didn't know about this) plague of hackers demanding money from gambling sites, specifically poker sites as of recently. Yes $2.5 million dollars to setup a network to handle the ranking he is talking about on Poker Pulse. Would you care to make a wager? We can always pull up the recent sale of Pardise (since it was bought by a publicly traded company) and see how much they put in the asset column. The only ASSETS they have besides player's money (which was transferred) is their devalued network to maintain the sites. What do you want to guess that figure is around the 1 million dollar mark ? Ever hear of depreciation? Paradise has been around years, sure they have constantly had to upgrade their network though and add additional technology to maintain the security and integrity of their company. Please pull up the sale report, and then we will contact the company and attempt to get a list of all the equipment they have. We will then get the lsit price if you were to buy at a discount directly through one company. I'm guessing my $2.5 million dollars is about right ... Keep in mind setting up a network is NOT just buying the equipment and the lines on an island (where bandwidth is roughly 5 - 10 X as expensive I would venture a guess) it is also gathering the right system administrator and security experts. To give you an idea for a normal company in say Chicgo System administrators make $85,000 at entry level and a security expert's pay ranges $2-$300 an hour for a true expert, not too mention their signon bonus. Now if he is going to start off light and get a standard setup with a normal system administrator that can handle 300 simultaneous players then yeah $2.5 million is unheard of ... Party handles 60 THOUSAND SIMULTANEOUS PLAYERS. |

There are companies currently spending 1 million dollars + a month on advertising in the poker industry and they barely cracked the top Ten by doing so for quite a few months now ... They were also already a previously established network that had a core group of players to go off of.. Do you know how much money it would cost to develop a core group of users, say non stop 40 players on at all times? Devloping the core is not only one of the more expensive aspects of starting up but it is also the fundamental building block before you can even spend that kind of money advertising. |

Wow - Reading back on this thread years later was very interesting. Look at the changes that have been made. I'm a broken little piggy but this business (just keep me away from the tables, lol) would be my PERFECT bread and butter indusry to succeed in and do so very well) I kid you not.
I personally, don't think it is just the financial backing you have. I think it is 200,000% more important you have the right type of staff ground up to run a business like this - for more reasons than I count count. Look at a couple networks that have come literally out of the blue since this last discussion. Now, granted the whole law being passed made a huge difference but I do think that even without it being passed these companies would be pretty damn dominating in this industry never the less. This particuolar industry never ceases to amaze me. It is one industry that I had a job in the last decade I really enjoyed every aspect of the work on from A-Z the entire time I was involved. I would LOVE to get involved in it again. I am even considering going to dealers schooler and going to a Vegas casino and see if I could work my way up. I would, naturaly, prefer to work from home though and make frequent trips out to the company's HQ obviously. Wow, this thread really hit home

OK ... here are my
![]() I was working for online casinos and online gaming companies for 7 years. From 1999 untill about a year ago. I have worked for Casino On Net, Casino Tropez, ClubDice Casino and a whole bunch of other smaller ones that are not even worth mentioning. I was also promoting Party Poker for two years. Right now there are only two companies worth dealing with for gaming software (poker or casino) and those are Wagerlogic.com and Playtech.com Forget all the small time companies, in this industry you need support and respectability. From the big boys Boss media and Microgaming have lost the game long ago. If you have any questions .. hit me up on ICQ (39-236-606)
