I know the CEO of one of our major banks like a brother, and he's the most laid back dude I've ever met. Makes many millions a year, and drives $30,000 car. In America it seems there is nothing else to do besides be obsessed with money and consumerism. I don't think everyone in Canada has quite yet swallowed the little pill that says money and possessions are all that matter.
