get a bunch of blogs going let search engines spider.. build up a nice PR and get some good rankings on Google for 'blog service', 'online journal', etc.

hopefully you'll get some nice SE traffic which will boost PR, etc. etc. in a cycle

talk to WMLabor, let him write some nice blogs on all different topics, hopefully you'll cover a wide variety of personal interests. do hot-topic blogs.. abortion, teen pregnancy, drug use, president bush, iraqi war, xxx porn, etc.

Number one on my list of advice for new bloggers is:
DON'T USE A FREAKIN' BLOGGING SERVICE!
It's such a bad deal for bloggers -- all the free bandwidth and software access in the world can't compensate for their stuff being on a domain somebody else owns and controls.

I guess you have to play up the "no need to install anything, no need to have your own server or hosted space" angle, because it's all you got, even if it isn't enough for any rational person.

Not hating -- it just bugs me, watching folks struggle as they realize that their blog has become limited in some way by the blogging service they use.
