Now this is my favorite subject . "Indian Food" You would think the best place to get a good curry would be Indian but you would be wrong. Every country i travel to i seek out an Indian restaurant or two and very few ever come near the quality or taste of curry's you get in London. London ( Southall and Wembley ) have huge Indian population, if you ever go to Southall you would think you where back in India ???
The nearest thing to a reasonable curry i have had in California was from The Balti House next to an Irish pub on Sunset Blvd.. San Diego has a few curry places but all are poor imitations of the real indian dishes. I mean when someone tells you its a health curry you just know its going to taste bad ? ( Note: Curry are a lot of things but they are not Healthy !!!)
The only other passable curry i have had in the USA was when i went to the internext in New Orleans a few years ago. I was advised by the concierge at the W Hotel of a cool place some 20 minutes drive away, it turned out to be run by a guy who used to own restaurants in London, don't remember the name but it was sure good food.
Anyone have any recommendations for San Diego i am willing to try them . The "Passage to India" sucks The "Taste of India" has some good dishes but quality varies week to week.
Anyway you guessed it i love curry and it doesn't have to be hot or spicy to taste great. Chicken Jalfraze or a Balti Chicken is not hot but tastes fantastic if you find the right restaurant you will be in heaven . Add a Dortmunder or Kingfisher Beer to wash it all down.

Years and years of curry contributed to me having somewhat of a ropey stomach. So now I have to go a lot milder and probably only have Indian 2 or 3 times a week
