It figures that Limbo took my 1K on this board and saved it somewhere.

1,001 was still worth the fact that sometimes people on these boards still have good things to discuss and offer besides the usual day to day filler.

I've been here almost from the beginning and i've always been happy to be here.

:thumbsup

Where the fuck do you live? Even the YMCA here charges $40 a month and they're a nonprofit.

Definitely worth it if you plan on going often. I enjoy my membership thoroughly. The gym I go to is fairly large so I never have to wait to use machines or the free weights... besides the hours I go are quite odd so it's not usually busy.

If you find it hard to get motivated they usually offer personal trainers that will put you on a regiment and push you to the limits.

Of coarse if you have space for the equipment you can buy it and do it in your home.

Remember most things that are worth getting usually take work to get 'em. If you want to shape your body it's going to take work, just like being successful in business or in any other avenue of life.

put your feet up on your couch and do hella pushups...then put your feet up and do a bunch of crunches...do that for like 10 minutes a day you're good to go...

$20 bucks a month, times 3 gyms and I can work out anywhere..I think thats a good value. :thumbsup

three?? dayum

A year ago, I prepaid for three years to 24Hr Fitness Sport. Then we moved to Summerlin so I upgraded it to SuperSport to use the Agassi gym.

I have been ONCE so far and I live 2 mins away :1orglaugh

Maybe I'll start next week... once you get a momentum going it's much easier and even addictive. :)

woj 11-15-2004 11:57 PM

50 gym memberships...

galleryseek 11-16-2004 12:02 AM

i've gone about 5 days a week for the last 3 1/2 years...

definitely overkill though, its nice to get away from the computer... im going to start limiting it to 4 - i'm begining to develop tendonitis :(

my gym membership costs like a bit over $30 a month.

Nick_Moneymaker 11-16-2004 08:49 AM

Best $1.5 I spend everyday. All about the ritual.

Vitasoy 11-16-2004 08:58 AM

Going to a gym and working out is great motivation, cause you see other people working their asses off with results, makes you want to do the same thing.. So I see yea, it's worth it. But you gotta go often.

kowntafit 11-16-2004 09:03 AM

I could never find enough time to go consistantly. I occasionally crank some good music and do free weights at home. The music is important, gives you evergy to lift more.

Not to mention its probably a better use of time than any other hobby you can think of. If your interested sign up with the forms on www.bodybuilding.com , tracking your progress can also help you stay motivated.
I stopped lifting when I started Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. Coming from a lifter backround, I did not do what most lifters do, stretch.

It's only now my shoulders are loosening up, etc.

SmutGiant 11-16-2004 09:10 AM

I've had a gym membership for the past three years... paid monthly for the first two years and went almost every single day. Last year I decided to prepay for the year to save some money and literally never went... guess I started smoking a lot of pot and lost the motivation lol.

Also, the gym is a great place to meet good girls. For the most part they're hot as hell and have a good head on their shoulders... and trust me if I can pick up girls at the gym you can to! LOL

Is it worth it, meaning, did you find yourself motivated to go at first only to find yourself not going anywhere as much as you thought you would.

it's all about the discipline man.

dozey 11-16-2004 09:28 AM

Discipline indeed. I had a monthly membership and probably only went 10 times. It just becomes a bitch to go there when you have other things to do... but when you do bother going, it feels worthwhile.
