Who here runs their own DNS
Is it a pain in the ass to configure? Seems a little complicated to me.
Can you point me to some easy howtos that you've got bookmarked? Thanks!!  |

Use WebMin to manage your DNS, it makes it quite straightforward. If you still think it is too complicated using WebMin, you probably shouldn't be maintaining your own DNS. |

DNS in itself is not difficult at all. The thing that makes it difficult, in my own experience, is when you read a lot of articles about it and one saying that and another one saying something else.
If you want to learn about DNS and how it really works and on how to run your own DNS server, buy the book DNS and Bind from O'Really. It's the best. A step by step guide explaining how DNS works, what it does and how to set up your own DNS server(s).
