I designed that "purple heart my ass" banner fly. I made it to put on my sites so I could send some surfers to the donation page, to help the cause, and I posted the banner here to let other webmasters use it to do the same.
When you're done shedding your tear, why not add it to your own site? If we don't do something, nothing will get done. My first and foremost concern is an always has been for helping those Americans and Canadians and others that are dead or trapped in the rubble. I'm not sure where your tirade just came from, you obviously have a few issues going though. People tried to sell WTC items on ebay right after the attack. Ebay has halted it until OCT. People charging $4-$5 per gallon of gas. People calling the victims of the families pretending to be Aid Workers and trying to get the victims SS numbers. People calling pretending to be collecting for rescue workers involved in the cleanup. Trying to get large donations from old people. And those are just the ones that I have heard of. There are indeed some Americans that need their ass beat. |

Selling advertising is one thing....... and I am all about buying and selling adspace for our Companies...... that is totally NOT the point here, Fly... if you go and look closely at this page, this person has a PORN dialer linked to all the pics and it is MY freaking dialer. Not alot I can do as he is hosting it other than kill the account and not pay them.
As closely as this hit all of us, whether we are Americans or where we live or work........ trying to gain by this is totally and utterly preposterous....... it makes me sick. You're right -- it's a shitty ass thing to say -- but somebody needed to say it. I don't need to tell you how many times we have all paused for a moment of silence in every store, in every commercial, in every classroom, etc... Some stores have the moment of silence on a loop every ten minutes! To me that's sick. Somebody needs to stand up and say -- stop milking this disaster for all it's worth!
I haven't updated my site in weeks so that's my excuse -- and today is my birthday so leave me alone ;) Besides according to CNN they have more than enough supplies. The Red Cross is asking for fucking underwear and candy bars -- meanwhile Yahoo alone has collected over $250,000 for the Red Cross -- I'm sure they can afford to buy the candy bars and underwear. Personally I know a lot of people are trying to forget about this shit for a little while -- they don't need it in their face everywhere they go -- it's difficult enough for most people. Imagine that your husband or wife was killed -- would you want to be reminded every 5 minutes with a moment of silence? Does anyone else remember when durring the Gulf War CNN couldn't get any advertising because no one wanted to be seen profiting from war? Instead we had a few adverts from Boeing and the such wishing the troops luck and a lot of public service announment adverts.

Pete, I do stand by my "animated icons" because I'm trying to make at least a small difference, and I know I have. I also know there are thousands of webmasters out here with sites that have NO link to the relief fund whatsoever, and I just gotta say "what the FUCK is up with that??" Would it kill some of you to put something up for a few weeks?
And no, I don't stand by while people are being beaten up for the way they look. Here in Winnipeg that kind of descrimination is much more rare than in the U.S., but it can happen from time to time. If and when I see such disgusting crap going on I will gladly step in and assist in stopping it. Pete, maybe you needed to be standing right next the the twin towers last Tuesday. Maybe you needed to feel the impact and witness the utter carnage, and know what it means to have such sci-fi alien weirdness happen to your own city, for real. I can only imagine the sheer impact that scene has had on thousands of New Yorkers, and on the millions of onlookers that witnessed it live on tv. This is big. This is huge, and it means a call for tolerance of our fellow man to let everyone mourn, rage, or do what they can to assist in any way they need to. Can we stop this "my way of dealing with this is better than your way" crap already?
