Personally i think there are more parties listed on the site this time than there had been the same time frame away from the previous shows.

Also, the invite only parties are that for one reason, they keep the freeloading webmasters away from where the serious business is going to be done, after hours suites are good for relaxing with your friends and peers but if anyone wants to get any serious business done at the shows these days you either have to go to your hotel room (away from the freeloaders) or, you have to plan a timeslot and get all that you want said during that time slot.

By allowing various companies the option of having invite only events it guarantees that not only the people attending them are important to the sponsors of the events but, it also guarantees you will have more than the requesite 5 minutes talking time on the show floor.

As for the Gay Webmaster Bash specifically, if you would like to get invites to the sponsor hosted meals, then you should contact the 6 event sponsors directly

Incidently, we still have a sole sponsorship option remaining for the Gay Webmaster Bash and, as you can see from our current sponsors, the company or individual that fulfills this sponsorship is going to be in the mix with a bunch of great people

i think the gay webmaster bash events will be very cool - a better chance to get to know other webmasters = a better chance to make money with them. and lee tells me dancing will be happening

besides, whether business or social, hit and run just ain't my style. it's better to hang out a while... ;-)

good points about the more private / invite only events. I haven't heard much yet from any programs i'm with yet about what they're doing... I like the smaller gatherings & suite parties but I also like big clubs & loud music.
I've never attended the gay events in the past but I'm making it a point to go to a few this year.
