How to raise an eBay feedback score?

Anybody know hot to raise an eBay feedback score when you are just starting out as a seller?... I know if I buy some things that will raise it... I thought of also buying many cheap items from the same seller, and having that seller leave feedback for each item.. Anybody else know any techniques?? Help appreciated!

Well... people want to see at least a feedback score of 200+ before they buy... So its tough when you sell items that are $50+ for buyers to trust a new seller... THerefore I need to raise it

don't sacrifice profits.....just list your items at a price that will sell, communicate promptly with your buyers and ship asap and you will have plenty of positive feedback.

Always remember, no matter how hard you work to keep perfect feedback, eventually a 10" dick will come along a fuck you up the ass over something stupid. Perfect feedback is hard these days. Keeping it over 98% is enough to gain trust from buyers

Now thats a good idea! And I agree, my worst fear is some ass coming along and giving me negative feedback because I didnt ship the item overnight or something and god forbig he had to wait 3 days for priority mail.

;) Don't let buyers get to you. If they leave negative feedback, request their user information and give them a call asking them if they know who you are. If their phone number is invalid, all the better ;) ;) ;)

If someone leaves me negative feedback, and I call them.. is it possible for them to recant their negative feedback?

If you pay $20 for squaretrade to remove it. The buyer has to agree. Leave him cruel negative feedback and see if he'll pay half to help remove both

It's not that hard to be a powerseller. Just don't get suspended from eBay for something stupid!

I should write a dirty guide to selling on eBay and then sell it on eBay and make lot's of money.

Maybe in a couple years. For now ill use my knowledge of eBay to my advantage. I haven't purchase a single eBook on eBay. All they probably teach you is how to write good descriptions and keep customers and have good customer service. They do not tell you dirty selling tactics.

That can work however:

1) Your better off investing $30 by buying than finding 30 friends with different feedback ratings so it doesn't look obvous what your doing.

2) Be careful you do not bid on an item from your eBay accounts IP or you will be suspended.

3) You will still have to pay eBay fees.

4) Selling items strictly for feedback will get you suspended but buying items strictly for feedback cannot be determined and eBay won't care

They will but you could just be building an eBook collection so I don't know if they would say anything unless you bait it out in paypal receipts saying "please leave me + feedback because thats the only reason I bought your eBook"

Plus you may only find 100-200 or so items at any given time with free/no shipping and buy it now under $1

Remember, that once you sell 20 items and get 20 feedback from selling, no one really goes to your second page of feedback and sees that the rest of it was from buying $1 ebooks. Plus in 6 months or a year, they cannot even see the auction or know if you were the buyer or seller

The problem with raising your score by buying a shitload of ebooks is that a buyer with half a brain will look up what you have bought to get your rating.

I've seen people trying this to sell cars, nobody bids on their vehicles because they aren't THAT stupid.

What I did was hold a garage sale on ebay selling a bunch of worthless crap. Shipped it all out and now I have a legitimate score. And you do not need 200 sales to gain buyer trust. I only have 54 and I have sold $800 items in the past.

It is always a good Idea to remind the customer to give the feedback. Very often you will be selling to a customer that has nevwer bought this way before. So ask them to take the time to give the feedback.

Also, when someone does give good feedback, and then they purchase from you again, cut them a break on the shipping or something like that.

Well, im not selling car's, just electronics for $100-400 I think this area is very competitive and I need a decent feedback score. And you have a good point how many buyers will actully look thru other than the first page of feedback...

If my first 2,000 came from buying 1 cent ebooks, and my most recent 500 points came from selling, whos to know? Seems like a good tactic.

My personal experiences with eBay have been with selling stuff I find hitting garage sales, nothing better than buying a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt from some suburban wonk for $1 and reselling it as a vintage RL Polo shirt (which it was) to some dude in Germany for $22.00 plus another $15 for USPS Global Priority Mail.

I've been slowly cleaning out my closets, selling tech hardware from special projects collecting dust, I'm seriously considering attending the eBay Live in San Jose in 2005 as I want to start selling higher ticket items than I am now.

Now my advice to you is the same advice I gave my sister, sell what you know, sell what you can buy cheap and sell high, treat your buyers as if they were in your own store, offer them shipping plans you can deliver on, accept Paypal only, and leave glowing feedback.

Follow that and the feedback will roll on in, like porn, they will bookmark your eBay ID or store and buy from you, recommend your wares to their friends and family.

Hope this helps!

just get 100 clone accts of different names and "sell urself" loads of items for 1 cent, like say, Cell Phone Antenna Boosters in bulk and just have a high shipping rate. Real ebay pros know this trick to shave comissions on low priced items and this looks to most people like you do alot of quick business.

Depends what you are selling if eBay feedback score really matters. A high feedback of just buying doesn't give one creditability.

I rarely buy from a power seller unless they have a buy now listing and their shipping is reasonable.

From what I understand is that potential buyers really doesn?t look at your feedback post count but what you are selling or buying and how much did it cost. For example if I saw a digital camera for sale and I went and looked at the sellers feedback and he/she got tons of great feedback for being a fast pay for stupid/cheap auctions, I wouldn?t trust the seller and move on.

For cheap tricks, list an item and have another person in another state win the bid.

There's a loop I believe, I was fucking with the feedback form a few months back and it allowed me to keep resubmitting. I'm not too sure about these days.

Sell really cheap stuff and do it Dutch auction style. The pain is trying to get the people to leave the feedback, though.

It depends what your selling. If the product is new or used, and if they have options to buy from more reputable sellers. However, most eBayers rather save $5 than care about a couple negative feedback. That's what chargebacks are for

If buying to build feedback make sure you only buy from people with high rank themselves. People with high rank know the importance of giving proper feedback.

Not really. I had very high ranks and I never left feedback unless asked to. It just gets very annoying having to sort through everyone who's paid. Plus, NEVER leave feedback first if your the seller. Or just go ahead, and learn the hardway

I do a lot of buying and selling on ebay.. and one thing I think works for getting someone to leave you feedback is to provide a link for them in your request letter..

one of the reasons I don't leave feedback many times is because I don't want to take the time to find the link

Sell everything you have laying around worth five to four hundred dollars. make more money on shipping the big stuff and take no more than a five percent loss on the shipping for small stuff. if you follow these rules you will have sold some good stuff and made a decent amount of cash plus have a good feedback rating. its all up to you.
