Actually , Novell won a lawsuit against Microsoft for a couple of hundred million last week because of unfair marketing practices, and there's another one pending. They are still around and now have some more money to spend.
This is a case where a better marketed , technically inferior product won out ,ie. Microsoft NT. I still don't find Actice Directory to be as good as Novell's NDS.

I had a high school networking class that used novell... ah the good old days when we had computers so old they could not even be networked haha, didn't stop the school from offering the class though!Comment
