I got so addicted to the first version that I avoid it like the plague!

I lost weeks of my life to that game.. . if my hard drive hadn't crashed I might still be playing it.

the one thing i wish it had was like an auto-pilot

i wish i can go to work while the game was on, and come back and everything is fine.

the way it was in the first game (dont know about second one) they would always have lost their jobs, and most likely be dead in a tomb stone.

I have it and I love it.... it's definitely different than the first one, but I love this game, and yes I am an addict. LOL

I like that it is more real than the first one, they have a lot more going on that they didn't in the first one. Like they can get pregnant, puke, and all that jazz..... and they are WAY more jealous than in the first one. The objects are kind of lame in this one, but that'll change just as it did with the first one.

As far as Auto Pilot goes.. I have left them for a couple of hours and it is fine. Just make sure you have smoke alarms, and that sort of thing. AND if you wanna leave it then you'll almost HAVE to get one of those fridges that are always full because if they run out of food, they WILL die. lol

I am pretty sure you'd be fairly safe leaving them, but not for like days or anything..... LOL

And YES, I avoided this damn game like the plague.... when I used to play Sims City, I would get lost for days and days on end, and I used to always wish we had actual PEOPLE in it, and then when they did that, I freaked and wouldn't even touch it. I had NO intention of ever picking this one up, but my oldest daughter just had to go and bring it to me on X-box and I was hooked from there on. Had to go out and buy the whole damn set on PC and the whole works......

I tried to avoid it, I really did. Honestly.. and I was doing fine, til she did that.

There are two different alarm clocks you can get and make them set it, it'll wake their asses up.... LOL

The game also has some cheats you can put in there, and one of them is to make the auto run anyway you want it.... from next to nothing all the way to full auto. ;)

OMG I <3 the Sims. When it first came out I would play for like days without sleep haha. I go through phases where I play for like weeks straight and then I don't play at all. I have all the expansion packs for the first version, I don't like the Pets one because the stray animals keep coming in your house and that's kind of dumb lol, but the others are ok. God I want to play now LOL I love www.7deadlysims.com and I pay for membership at www.thesimsresource.com to get wallpaper, floors, objects etc.

I haven't played Sims 2 yet, but if it's as addicting as the first, I'll be in trouble

OH god, are you my twin? I swear I thought I wroet this for a minute there. Those are my favorite sites too and I pay for memberships to them... thank god they are cheap. LOL

I have them all too and I hate the damn animals, it was cool at first, til I kept having to deal with damn dogs and cats everywhere... I just put those no pets signs all over the damn place. LOL

If you are a huge fan of 1, then you are going to shit on 2...... it's awesome. To ME, anyway. I do the same thing.. I'll play for days and then not touch it for days on end. But if I ever turn it on I am hooked for a few days, then I get bored with it and don't touch it. LOL

I played the original for the first time a few months ago. I'll probably play it some more in the future, but I'm more into RPGs.

One funny thing though, when I first started it, I couldn't figure out why my characters were starving and wouldn't make food... I finally figured out, I had placed the fridge with the doors against the wall!

I did the same thing.... and god they yelled at me for DAYS... lol

They REALLY have a bitch fit in 2 when you do something they don't like. I forgot to hire a maid and had a sloppy Sims, well he ate bad food and was sick for days with food poisoning, and guests are always eating the food with the green fog on it and getting sick and puking in my toilets..... fuckers, they should know green smoke is NOT edible food, stay far far away. LMAO

This one has Aliens in it too. That is funny as hell. Men will get abducted when they look thru the telescopes at night sometimes and they always come back pregnant.. watching the males pregnant is a trip. LOL

I like RPG games too...... Final Fantasy, Zelda, Breath of Fire, and God knows what all... I love them all. I am an explorer though, I have to knock everything down and move everyting to find what's behind everything...... so I am not a fast player, I don't like just winning to be winning, I wanna know all the tricks and hidden things.

My future Son in Law brought me Fable last night..... but they also brought Halo 2, so chances of me getting to check out Fable in the next few days is near impossible.

LOL That's awesome... glad to know I'm not the only one!

I better wait until I have a lot of extra time to waste before I get Sims 2 ... Not that I ever have weeks/months of life to spare, but oh well

That's hillarious, I'm the exact same way. Drives other people crazy. But I've been that way since Wolfenstein 3D... I had to push on EVERY inch of wall, or I couldn't go on to the next level.

Yup, same here. Sean, my son in law to be, brought over Crystal Chronicles and wanted to play multi player with me and he ended up not coming back to play because he plays to get to the end and I was holding him up so damn bad... no one will play milti player anything with me because I always have to go see what's behind that rock or wall. lol

FF..... nahh.... I police myself pretty decent... I won't play or anything til after my work is done for the day or it is time for a break..... or until it is close to dinner when I know I have to stop soon... that's how I monitor myself or I would play around the clock.

I gave myself carpal (sp?) tunnel syndrome playing damn video games a few years ago, so I have to monitor it... LMAO

Simply fucking awesome. A shameless resource hog, like always, but frigging amazing game.

If your enjoyment comes from creating SIMS people using either people you know from real life or very specific imaginary people as models, the new morphology control features (for face and body with dozens of toggles and variables) will get you off like never before.

Same here. I use games as a reward for getting my work done. Though I do usually play something while I'm eating breakfast or lunch or such, it's usually an online game then.

Oh no way... my husband will NOT let me eat at my computer too, he'd flip all out on me..... LMAO But that's how I do mine too, if it's been a long day or I have done my fair share and then some, I may spend all damn night playing. I am 40 fucking years old, so I have earned some peace and quiet to do what I want sometimes. LOL

Oh boy... don't get me started here. I had always just played made up families and scenarios and everything. Mind you I bought this the very night it was put on the shelves..... and I have played ALOT. My 6 yr old wanted to do OUR family, so I made our town and put our complete family in it. Husband, wife, two teens, a child and a toddler. My youngest isn't a toddler but to proportion it right in the game, she had to be. So here we go, thinking this is going to be kind of cool. Wellllllll................

I swear to god, I have never had a more difficult or chaotic family to play in my life. This family is giving me fits... same as in realtime. LOL I know the signs are judgemental on their personalities, but just to keep it real, I gave them all our zodiac signs, and it has been a complete chaotic wreck. My youngest has laughed her head off..... she thinks it is so much fun and loves to watch herself acting like a complete fool. The Mom (me) in the game has been visited by the shrink numerous times........

You think this is trying to tell me something? LMAO

I confess, I enjoyed the sims for about half an hour. Just too fun building sims people inside rooms with 4 lit fireplaces and nearby couches. Also letting them get into pools without ladders to hop out. I wasnt expecting them to die that way.

Anyway, it got boring after I killed everyone in the family.

OH WOW.......... I was looking for a fast house with tons of bedrooms in it and I went to the Sims 2 site and downloaded this house....... with it came a helicopter, limo and an army jeep. Well, I thought they were decorations so I clicked on the fucking things...... this is just BADASS.......... So far I have cast famine on the house, pestalence (or however you spell that damn word) and god knows what all....... I have laughed so hard I have almost pissed myself, these fuckers have died every which way it is possible to die.

This is what I love about this one, if you download a house, you get everything ini t with it, no hunting down shit to find all the furnishings that were used........ THIS one is a fucking trip...... I thought since I could click on them, maybe I could do something, little did I know I could wipe out everything in such a horrible way.... LMAO

My ex-girlfriend was deadly addicted to this game, she wanted all the add-ons, was playing for hours and hours on my computer on it, because hers wasn't fast enough. Some evenings she even loaned some movies for me to watch so she can take my computer and play, it was horrible

Yeah! I am not alone!

Such a big Sim fan here! I went from not having anything to having the 8 in 1 pack for my computer AND Sims and the Sims busting out for my PS2. I love it so much! I have all my friends in the game, it's a safe addiction I think *hope*.

Hell no, sorry. I have the package on my computer, but I went back to find a link and couldn't find it. I just know it is on the Sims 2 Exchange site........ I didn't think anything about it, so I just went on downloading other houses. But I do save them on my computer so I have it. If you want I can upload it and send you a link......

Zoe, same here... if it has Sims on it, I have it...... I don't have any friends in there, I just did a little thing a few days ago where I put our family in there and it was nuts enough. So I stick with the fake everything. lol

Never really played it. It looked pretty boring to me.

If you liked Sims 1 then I would set aside a week just to play the second one.. totally addictive if you like that sort of game. Luckily for me so is staying alive so I had to stop playing to earn some money.

I'm fucking addicted to this game. I've got skins and clothes and eyecolors and that delicious patch...

I wish they'd release the meshes for long hair on men, though, as well as object meshes, 'cause I'm tired of the same old stuff in the buy and build modes...though I've heard through the Sim grapevine that a new expansion for Sims2 is coming out very soon!!
