Interested in the domain business? Fennerty.com : The Available One-word Domains Bot

    http://www.fennerty.com/

This is my newest project, and it is one I hope will be of use to those of you into the domain business. Fennerty.com is a bot that spends the day searching for and scoring available one-word domains, for then to compile the best of them (according to its own view any way) within each category (com, net, org/us/info/biz) into the public lists on Fennerty.com once every 24. hour.

I don't know whether something like this is already out there, but I think the service is an asset in any case, being that it actively generates its domain lists itself and therefore have unique information to offer.

That concludes my one-time announcement. Thanks for listening.

Great idea, how can I get a bigger list instead of waiting every 24 hours?

All sorts of dictionaries thrown into one file and purged of duplicates and too long words.

Re: the niobiums thing; I probably should have mentioned that the bot didn't have time for a complete 24 hour research cycle before it compiled (because this is its first day of operation), so the updates from here on out will produce lists of a higher quality.

The answer is "Yes". There are hundreds of domain bots out there but those of us who write them usually don't share them.

I just made the lists 100 entries long instead of the old 70, and changed the bot to compile every 12. hour. I hope that is satisfactory.

I referred more to the concept in the context of a public service. I've run domain bots privately for ages myself, and I think it's reasonable to argue that most all programmers with some interest in domains has at least dabbled in the thought at some point.

Looks great. One thing I'd suggest is a searchable archive of all the domains it has found over the days, weeks and months.

Update - Now Fennerty.com is practically live, with new domains entering and day old domains leaving the lists every 30 minutes.

Well if one has faith in the .US extension, there are still plenty of nice words available. I'm a bit on the fence with .US, but I think in a few years it might come around.

The ~$50 it takes to register a few of the best .US domains you find is not much of a risk compared to what this market might turn out to be in the near future. Sitting on the fence in the domain game never amounts to everything because as soon as the values allow you to get off your fence, the valuable domains are already taken and you are back on the fence for the next thing.

Exactly. That's why I pick up a few .US names here and there. When I say "on the fence" I mean that I'm not convinced it will take off. That doesn't mean I haven't put myself in a position to take advantage of it should it ever do so.

To get in on the ground floor you almost always have to take a leap of faith.
