Some of the best TGPs around don't have slick looking designs. In fact the biggest in our industry are for the most part just plain lists and banners. Then look at Captian Stabbin. I don't think those tours look that great, but they convert.

ATL_Ryan 11-12-2004 09:16 AM

I have traffic. I send some programs 500,000 first page uniques a month. I send some programs 200 a month. I checked out your program and I'm not that impressed with the tours, girls, price points, or payout. It needs to stand out from the other 400 programs and at this point I don't think it does. I'm not saying your site sucks I'm just saying it looks average. But there is nothing that is making me say WOW I've got to send some traffic to that.

i almost got a paper cut, was gonna send u a bill for the booze that i had to drink cause of the shock...

aside from the design of the site u have lots u can work on before worring bout getting new affilates or pushing harder on ur current affilates...

also a tip for ya, work 1 on 1 with affilates, look at tcg for instance, as large as it is.. when i need something done i goto bt and its done in a very personable manner... for the time invested doing this it will pay 10 fold..

also start working on ways to grow your own inhouse traffic... dont depend on just affilates to make you bank...

then again thats just my view :)

The biz needs more programs with this point of view. Send a detailed email expalining your traffic, what you've done to promote the sites etc. and you get a one line email back that says get better traffic.

Then there are others that say they'll help and then don't...

And a few that will dig in and bend over backwards to help.

Good points. As an affiliate, I don't like to see sponsors pushing their own site hard. That competes with me. They have a bigger resource in most cases and can devote the investment to get the SERPs etc.

studio 11-12-2004 09:28 AM

NaughtyINC,

Thanks for the advice... and I agree with you 100% on working with the affiliates I have on a personal level... and I do, I am here for the nearly 24-7 as I would from a home office. As for getting my own traffic, if it were not for that I would be out of business...

Well have to have a beer at internext...

there are many ways to generate your own inhouse traffic without going directly against your affilates etc... its just knowing what to do and how to do it :)

but if you see a program your spending your time and $ pushing to find that it doesnt even push its self how stable and sure do you think you will feel that the program is there to stay and that it does convert if they wont even send their traffic to it :)

newho if anyone wants to pick my brain i will be in l.a :) lol

its hard starting into the industry off the bat with paysites, but it is doable... just your margin for error is small :)

That is why you hire someone with a track record to keep you on track! Wish I could say I was that person and pick up a few bucks. Sounds like NaughtyINC might be the right person though if he has the time. 10% charge for the refer.

Interesting about NaughtyINC and Jenn.

NaughtyINC 11-12-2004 10:49 AM

just remember that no one starts off with a perfect leakfree tour etc, its all about tweaking and learning from what works and what doesnt...

its having the drive to develope a final product that you can stand behind and from there you can start to grab some new affilates :)

all the best with the program bud and i can say from just speaking to him that he does have the drive to make things right and develope a product that will sell and make both affilates and the program money.

Would be interested in what you would call a site that is going to convert like mad. Give us the specific tour as an example.

I am just saying you have to impress the webmaster with your tour, and these days webmasters like reality style tours with free sample clips.
